Kids Play Soccer

Today Div 1 and Div 2 spent the day with hundreds of other students playing soccer at BC Place. The event hosted by Kids Play provided transit ticket, Subway lunch and other fun activities, we even got a trophy. What a wonderful active day walking in the sunshine and playing soccer with friends.

IMPORTANT:

There will be no ultimate practice tomorrow.

Today's field trip to BC Place was one of the best field trips and days of the year. It all started off when we took the skytrain to Yaletown Roundhouse station in downtown. We all walked to BC Place and we got on the pitch and we were going to play soccer for the whole day, I was super pumped for this!

My favourite part was playing soccer, it was a vary fun, friendly and competitive place to play soccer and I scored a goal off a rebound! I also really liked being at a soccer stadium because my favourite sport is soccer and there is something I really like about Stadiums, I think they are just cool. From my experience today I would definitely like to do this again because of course my favourite sport is soccer and I think it is a fun thing to do to have fun with friends and meet new people. I am very grateful for the volunteers who helped out here, Thanks to you all! If there one thing I could change it would be maybe to bring your own lunch because the subs were very soggy and my friends and I didn't like them, I would also recommend more training on the volunteers because althea seemed like they knew was refereeing a game rather then knowing what's going on, for example: When our team asked the volunteers what to do or where to go, they simply had no clue, and this applied to many of them. Anyways I am very grateful for the volunteers and the sponsors, seriously, we wouldn't be doing this without them so thank you so much!

Although this might sound negative, I didn’t really like much about today due to one simple reason. There simply isn’t enough space to play soccer, especially not with 10 people. What I did like was free subway, because of course everyone loves free food.
One thing that I would change is to be more supportive of my teammates. It was clear that more teamwork was necessary, however it’s very cramped in the small court.

The think that I liked about the soccer tournament was that we got to play against other schools. One of the things that I experience was that I get to play against other team and I would like to have the opportunity to do it again because it is a fun and collaborative to work together. One thing that I can change from today is that we should have every school play against other school and handshake after the game Also, I think one thing that I can change from today is that we should cheer on our team during the game.

Today I really liked when we finally got to eat food and drank lots of water. What i didn´t like was that our field (20) were the last groups to get food and I was getting really hungry. The things that I would improve is that there could be a way to get to the opposite side of the arena without getting trampled by other players and getting hit with soccer balls. Also I felt like when people get there subway, they should eat it not so slowly because there are other groups out there who are STARVING and still playing. Overall, it was a fun but very hot day :)

I just liked playing soccer with my peers and to be honest there is not really anything I want to change except for maybe having a better strategy. I would do this again, but maybe with less walking as my feet hurt a lot and also considering we walked so much from last field trip it was kind of painful. Even then I still had fun and congrats to everyone for playing soccer together.

Today I liked playing soccer and how we got the opportunity to play against teams from other schools. I would totally do this again because I had fun playing against different teams. Today My team got lost and we asked the volunteers where to go but we got no help so I would give the volunteers something like a note that would tell them where and when the teams should be. Overall it was very fun.

Today in our soccer tournament things did not go well. I did appreciate that they made and effort and helped and spent their time for us but these things happened. Some teams were being so aggressive and were going in like it was a real game some people got injured and also there was no direction for when we finished eating our lunch. I also was quite sad when we weren't playing because they sent us from one place to the other and people made it the other peoples problem. We ended up not playing for the last 30 minutes but we tried to play with the other Laurier team. In conclusion i think the event is amazing its just that they needed to learn how to keep it organized for next time.

Today, I really enjoyed playing soccer with my teammates and having everyone included. I just like playing soccer in general and I want to get better at it.
I would love to have another opportunity at playing against other schools because there's competition, and from that I can play my best.
If there was one thing I would like to change form today, it would be how long we were out on the field because I (and I'm not exaggerating) was sweating BUCKETS.
I did have a lot of fun today, and I would still want to do this again.

Today, we participated in a soccer tournament at B.C Place and I really enjoyed it! Something I really liked was the fact that the stadium was large enough to accommodate basically all teams playing at once, so there was no time where we as a whole team had to wait to play a game. However, a really big drawback with that with 10+ people on a team and only five people allowed on the field at a time per team, it really wasn’t different from if we split up into teams of five but waited in between games. This is something I would change, as it’s much better (in my opinion) to be able to play several full games without interruption then having to play several games cut short in the middle.

There’re many other reasons to switch to this organization as well. As mentioned before, obviously, you get to play full games. However, you also have more time to rest in between (meaning more time to get a drink of water, going to the washroom, etc.) while still keeping around the same playtime. These little complaints aside, I think the event worked out well and really enjoyed participating!

My favourite thing today was the music, because I felt it bran life to the event. I don’t think I wold do this again because I’m not that big of a sports fan. If I was to change something I would have played for a less amount of time, or have the kids come in later, because I felt as if we played to long.

Sadly soccer is not my faviorate sport. In fact, I dont like it. Every single time I play soccer I get hurt. however I was lucky enough to get free food! I love subway and I am very thankful that I got it for free! even if the lettece was a bit old I cant complain.

but as I brought up before I got hurt and I dident like that very much. also the heat was insain and other people ware overheating. lastly I was lost half of the time and dident get to play much. so using all this infomation I would not like to do this again.

I would try to perticipate more and I would go to the first aid station when I got hurt beacuse I dident ice it and now my hand is throbbing with pain.

(however I am really really not pain tolerant and I tend to often whine. I saw other people getting hurt and they bounced back up.)

I enjoyed playing soccer at the friendly tournament. I would do this again if I have the opportunity. I got to use up my energy and had fun at the same time. One thing I didn't like was that the volunteers didn't give clear instructions and help us go to the next station. I would like the volunteers to be more helpful in directing students where to go. I am grateful for the opportunity to play soccer with so many other students.

At this tournament, I did not like it as much as all the other ones I participated in. There was lots of confusion and the water was horrible, considering they are contained inside a plastic bottle. One thing I did like was the fact that we got to play soccer. Although this might seem like something that would account for most of the field trip, making it worth it, there were still too many complaints. If I were to change something, it would be that the tournament should be more organised. at the end of day, our team's position was taken by another, which we were then force of the courts.

One thing i like about this tournament is that the subways are amazing, and i dont know, i don't like soccer i barely play so idk.
But i what i had to say is although the place for us to play, but i am grateful that we could have such a nice field trip and i am really happy that I've been there once in my life

Today, we went to BC Place to participate in a soccer tournament. I enjoyed having the opportunity to play against a bunch of other schools. Although I’m not great at soccer, I tried to participate. I still think I could improve on my soccer skills. Being honest, I’m not good at soccer, and I missed the ball a lot. With practice, there’s a chance I would be able to improve. Since I’m not someone who’s fond of soccer, I don’t know if I would go again. But I’d definitely go if it was on a field trip like this.

Today we went to BC place to participate in a soccer tournament. I really liked the photo booth. It was a fun part of the day where we weren't sweating and where we were able to hang out with our friends. I would love to go again. I was never a huge fan of soccer, but I since today, my perspective towards soccer has changed. It is actually way more fun than I thought it would be. Something I would change from today is evening out the teams more. It was a really fun field trip, and an experience to play at BC place. :)

Today we have went to Kidsplay in the whitecaps center and we played a lot of soccer matches. This was okay, because of several reasons. First, there was a lot of confusion and mess ups and teams were all over place. Our team got kicked out of our lane, and so we had to join another team and play with them. The teams themselves were sportsmanlike, and so we had no difficulty with them. However, since there were more teams then positions, then teams will have to sit out which was confusing. After our lane had a lunch break, we all forget our positions, and so it was mayhem. I like that we had got to play quite a lot of soccer, something that would never be possible in school. I also liked the different events, the free iced tea, the subway monkey, and the okay music. Overall, if I were to change something, I would make the tournament more organized, and I would also have elimination to have a sense of competition.

I like that I was able play on an actual soccer field because so many famous artists and sports teams have played there.

I would like to have free subway again because subway is sooo good.

I would change the fact that we have to be on our sports day teams.

The program we got to experience today was quite fun and good for all of our health to run and play soccer and also not die of obesity. Me and my group (THE RED TEAM!!) had quite much fun winning all those games and how many times (lost count) we kicked the ball out and I had to run for it.......

Personally I didn’t like my Subway because it was very unusually soggy and spongy, so I threw it out (I am still grateful for free soggy subway).

I'll print this today

This piece was about making art using math. We had to rotate flip and transfer our patterns. We used mostly pencil crayons. The purpose of this art unit was to make complex patterns using a cartesian plane and numbered patterns. I think that the idea this piece shares, is that math can be used to make art. I would like people to notice the pattern I used. My favorite part of the piece is the pattern and colors that go with it. This piece represents me because it's my pattern, my colors, and my masterpiece.
