Today we had our first school performance in a long time. In this show the magician talked about Kindness & Gratitude! My favourite trick that he did was the trick where he got two students to go up on stage and become superheroes. Another good trick was the trick where he had the empty paint can and he pulled the long rainbow scarf out of the empty can. I think it is important to be kind and grateful because as the magician said kindness is contagious and thats great!

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. Mr. Steven came and showed the whole school a special magical performance. I think the main idea of the show was to teach everyone about kindness and gratitude in a more engaging way than just talking to everyone about it. Mr. Steven did a lot of cool tricks, but here are two that I liked the most. The first one was when he coloured a bunch of scarves inside a paint can which was supposed to be empty. And the second one was when he made a bunny appear from an empty box. In my opinion, the show wasn’t as exciting as some other performances, but it was still worth watching. I think it is nice that Mr. Steven came and taught everyone about the benefits of being kind and that we all got to learn something new.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. In this performance the former-principal, Steven Harmer, showed the whole school attracting and entertaining magic tricks while also telling us the importance of kindness and gratitude. One of the magic tricks we saw was like a small light show. Mr. Steve got some students to switch the lights off in the gym, and he proceeded to flash around tiny red lights, seemingly magically. Another trick included the sudden appearance of a white Hotot rabbit! All in all, the show was definitely amusing and now I feel motivated to be kind and grateful more than ever before!

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. I think the big idea of the show was to sppread kindness and gratefulness to other people. Two of the magic tricks I remember is the one where the rainbow scarf came out of the empty tincan and the green smiley face sticker one with the prize. Another trick I thought was cool is the first trick with the elephant picture. It's a great idea that he mixed magic and learning together to create a show people will have fun and learn from. The message is a good thing to share because the world will become a better place if we are all kind to one another.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. Mr.Steve talked about kindness and gratitude in his performance. Two magic tricks i liked in the performance were the light show and the bunny in the box. I liked the light show because he made multiple lights appear from his hands. I also liked the bunny in the box because he made it appear when there was nothing in it.I think Mr.Steve was trying to say is we should have kindness and have gratitude.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time about kindness and gratitude and why you should do both that was shared through a magic performance by Steve Harmer.
Steve Harmer (though likes to be called Mr. Steve) gave out 6 messages in total, 3 for kindness, 3 for gratitude. A few of the messages he gave included "Kindness shines light," "Gratitude changes people," and "gratitude makes what you have enough" showing the effects of doing both using some magic tricks.
Mr. Steve performed a variety of magic tricks for instance where he would put a empty paint bucket with no bottom in a partially see-through red box claiming that there was invisible paint in the bucket and that he will make it visible. He then took a gray ribbon that he had and put it in the bucket but, pull out a coloured ribbon instead. He then asked you to name a colour of the rainbow where he would pull a ribbon of the corresponding colour out of a empty paint bucket. At the end he would wrap all the ribbons he kept hidden and the ones he made appear then put them in a bucket and pulled out a long rainbow ribbon out of the seemingly empty bucket.
Another magic trick that he showed us his "Circus Elephant" which was really just a carboard piece. He then joked around with us liked getting the elephant to do a cartwheel but really only flipped it over. He also said he would make the elephant dissapear and put a clover over it than turned it around 3 times with the audience counting out loud, Then instead of the elephant it showed a "poof," he turned it back 3 times saying he would come back and he did. Mr. Steve asked the audience if they knew what he did and most people silently said yes thinking the poof was on the back of the elephant but when he turned it, there was not.
I think Mr. Steve Did a good job considering he had to entertain the audience as well as sharing a message which made me like this performance and that the messages he shared should also be shared with the world.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time, The magician Steven Harmer showed the whole school so many tricks and made the whole school amazed. One of the tricks was he introduce his pet elephant and make it spin around and do funny tricks, after that he put the elephant in his cage and spun him around 3 times and after that POOF! He was gone. After that he brought up his magician box and grabbed 2 volunteers to check if anything was in the box. hey both said no so steven spun the magic box around and a bunny appeared! the whole school was amazed by stevens magic tricks. After the show I really enjoyed the performance and how Steven really made us laughed. Also now that I saw his kindness and gratitude show it makes me wanna be a better person in the world.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. Steve Harmer, the magician, performed a entertaining show about kindness and gratitude. An act he did for kindness was when he explained that light will shine through darkness by using little red balls of light in the dark gym. Another act he did was for gratitude. I personally like the invisible paint act. He interacts with the audience by asking some students to pick a colour from the rainbow to pull out of the paint can. After that he put all the colours back into the paint can and pulled out and long rainbow scarf. I think it's a great show because he share with us a very important message and he made it entertaining. The message, kindness and gratitude are little things that makes this world a better place. Sometimes we just need to slow down and appreciate the world around us.

What I enjoyed most of his magic was the glowing red balls that went to the bucket and once you clap your hands it disappear. Our world needs kindness and amazing people. Today we had our first school performance in a long time. Magician, principal and teacher Steve Harmer visit out school for an amazing magic act! I think his idea of his show was to teach young children to be kind and caring and presented this to us in a fun way. One of his very cool magic tricks was where he brought out a magical box and clearly showed that it was empty, he then closed it made a poof sound and when he opened the box.... there was a bunny inside! My favorite trick was when Mr. Steven had a pretend circus elephant inside a cage and brought him out, showed the audience the elephant and put him back in the cage. Mr. Steven put a purple curtain on the cage, flipped it around a few times and the elephant turned into a poof of smoke! In my opinion, I think this show was a great idea to help children learn to be kind to others every day because kindness is an amazing thing.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. The performer Steve Harmer, a former principal taught everyone about kindness and gratitude while doing magic tricks. His message or big idea was how kindness and gratitude could affect everyone in the world. The 2 magic tricks that I liked the most were when the lights were turned off and Mr. Steve moved around the red lights and made it look like they were going in the box or monitor. The other one was where the rabbit came out of the “empty” box. I thought it was nice because the rabbit was hiding there, and the two students called out did not see anything. What I thought about the message was it was an effective way to show the message because it was combined with magic tricks and sharing how to be kind was amazing. I thought it was a good message because there can be times when we are not kind and show gratitude to people. I really thought it was a good teaching and reminder.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. This show was performed by Steven Harmer, or what his preferred name was, Mr. Steven. He prepared a unique and one of a kind show for us to watch which I am grateful for. Which leads to the next topic of what he taught us, a very important lesson that’s everyone should know of.

Kindness and gratitude. Normally teachers would tell us to be kind, or be grateful for what we have just by talking but his way of communicating was different and more fun. He created an entertaining play for us to watch, and still made it clear of what his intentions were. The message got through and everyone had a good time.

Since he was magician, he also did some tricks to go with his play. I have some personal favorites. The first one which is when he put a sticker on one of the letters “kindness” and chose a student (Becky) to go upstage with him. But the act and tricks aren’t the reason of why this is my favorite trick. The main reason of why this is one of my favorite tricks is because there was a quote or a little sentence behind each letter, which made it so that he couldn’t only be able to contribute other people into his act, but to also teach the meaning of kindness along with that. A second favorite of mine was when he made a rabbit appear in a box. Sure, it was a common thing for magicians to do, but this one was somewhat different. Reason being that this was a performance of kindness and gratitude, which honestly makes everything else a bit better compared to what it would normally be. Plus, I had no idea of how he did it which is what makes every magic act so fun and mysterious to watch.

This was an amazing assembly, also putting into consideration that it was the first one after about two years and that made it even more astounding. This is, and always will be a great message to share with different people you know such as your peers, relatives, and others. Not only because it’s a great topic, but also because everyone may need to be reminded of how lucky they are to be given what they are, and to have what they already may.

Again, this was an amazing show and a huge amount of the time I was astonished to see such different tricks and even animals that we wouldn’t normally see on a daily basis.

“Gratitude is the inward feeling of kindness received.
Thankfulness is the natural impulse to express that feeling.
Thanksgiving is the following of that impulse.”

Today we had our first school assembly in a long time. There was a magic show performed to us about kindness. Although it was presented to us a magic show, the message behind it was to teach us about kindness and gratitude through something that was fun and entertaining. There were many magic tricks shown to us today, but two that stood out the most to me was when Mr. Steve produced a dove from ‘invisible paint’, and when he held a mini light show to demonstrate how kindness shines light. In conclusion, although the show wasn’t too exciting, I think that it taught all of us a very important lesson; being kind and grateful can make your life and others lives much better.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. Particularly, it was a magic show! The performer, Steve Harmer, taught the whole school about kindness and gratitude. In addition, he entertained many students with numerous tricks and jokes.

I personally loved the trick where Steve and a student in the audience (Becky), used the “K.I.N.D.N.E.S.S” words and checked to see if Becky got the one with the smiley face (when you flip one of the words around). Another trick I appreciated, was the light show. All the lights were off, except the small red lights on Steve’s hand. The sound effects in the performance and how the tiny blocks fell kind of reminded me of Tetris, or Pac-Man.

In my experience, the show was humorous, exiting, and amusing. I acknowledge Mr. Steve for sharing the message of kindness and gratitude to our school. Sharing kindness and gratitude will have the potential to make the world a healthy and happy place.

In the end, everyone applauded, clapped, and so did I. Everyone in Laurier showed kindness and gratitude to Mr. Steve too!

Today we had our first school performance in a long time with Steve Harmer (Mr. Steve), a talented magician who has been a Principle, Counselor and Teacher with the Calgary Board of Education for 22 years. He gave us a brilliant performance on [KINDNESS & GRATITUDE your superpowers] to teach us how to be and spread kindness and gratitude.
Two of my favorite performances was the [Light performance] and the [Sad and happy chart performance]. I liked the light performance because it showed how much we can show kindness. And I liked the sad and happy chart performance because it showed how much we can spread kindness, joyfulness and happiness around the world.
I think that this is one of the most exiting and fun magic show I have ever seen. It teaches you that kindness and gratitude can change the world into a happier place.
I also think that this is a great message because it can teach everyone how to be kind and grateful.

I really liked how Mr. Steve read us many amazing quotes.
my favorites were:
Darkness cant drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate can't drive out hate. Only love can do that-Mother Teresa
And
When you look at a life through the eyes of gratitude, the world becomes a magical and amazing place.

today we had our first big essembly in a long time. there was a magician steve harmen he preformed magic as well as teaching us about kindness.although. out of all his magic tricks i like 2 the most, the first was when mr.steve pulled out a dove from a can of "invisible paint". The second one was when he pulled out a bunny from a magic box. in conclusion the show was a bit boring but it taught us a lot about kindness and being grateful what you have.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. The performance was about how important kindness and gratitude is and how powerful those two things can be. This message was presented by Steven Harmer and he used magic to do it. The reason I loved this presentation was because he did something exciting and fun to teach us an important lesson, which is an amazing combination. Even when he did silly things, he got the message of kindness and gratitude to everyone without us being bored. He taught us that kindness can spread and make peoples day better by using magic and his words. My favourite parts of the show was when he had orbs of light in his hands and he did cool tricks with it. Another part of the show I enjoyed was when he pulled out a rabbit from a box. That part shocked me but it was kind of expected. My opinion on the show is that Steven did a great job and I loved every part of it. His magic made the entire time entertaining and I learned a lot from him. The show he performed made me think of kindness and gratitude in a different way. I think the message Steven shared with us is a very powerful message. You should be kind and grateful for everything everyone has done for you. Your parents, brothers, teachers, and everyone else who brightens your day has done so much. You should always be kind because kindness brings down the hatred and if you bring hate towards someone, it will just make the hatred grow and noting will be better. Only the kindness can cure hatred and if everyone becomes kind, we can do amazing things and the world would be a much better place.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. Mr. Steve did a “magic show,” but really, I just think that it was a more exciting way of teaching us to be kind and show gratitude towards others. The show truly was extraordinary. One of the magic tricks I loved the most was at the very end when Mr. Steve pulled the rabbit out of the box. It was quite a unique trick, (mainly because all “classic” tricks are the magician pulling a rabbit / bunny out of their hat, but Mr. Steve added his own personal touch to the trick with the box!) My second favorite trick was the “Infinite Lights” (I don’t know what’s it called so...) Where he basically just had one small mini flashlight and pretended that it was the kindness in a world and showed us how it shines and makes everything less scary. It taught me that only kindness can drive out the darkness and hate in the world. Overall, I really enjoyed this magic show, and it taught me what it was supposed to: Show kindness and gratitude towards and make their day.

Haydee

Today we had our very first school performance in practically 2 years with Mr. Harmer, who has lived as a principal, a teacher and presently a magician from Calgary. Mr. Harmer delivered us a special message about kindness, and gratitude throughout a magic show he conducted. Out of the many tricks, there were specifically two tricks that stood out to me the most, the light show and when he pulled out a dove from a bucket of “invisible paint”. The light show instructed us on how kindness can shine light, and was personally the most amusing and entertaining to me. This message was extremely meaningful and engagingly explained to us to be kind and to show gratitude towards ourselves, others, and our surroundings. Although a few jokes personally might've been a bit immature for the older audience, but still indicated a meaningful and important statement behind them.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time. The main message of the show is that kindness and gratitude can change a lot of things in the world. The person performing the show is Mr.Steve. It may change someone’s day if you show kindness. It was actually a magic show, however, he delivered his message through the magic show. Since magic shows about kindness and gratitude are more entertaining than a teacher making a lecture about kindness and gratitude, he was able to deliver his message more efficiently. A magic trick he did was when he asked people to turn off the lights, he put on some music, he then pulled out his wand and a red light appears at the tip, he then transfers it to his hand and he proceeds to put the light in a bag, falls down how a piece of paper would fall. He then proceeds to take out red lights from all over his body and puts them in the bag. It was my favourite trick out of all of them. He also performed this trick where he put different colour rags into a box. He showed us it was empty. So he put different colour rags into a box. When he pulled it out, it was one long rag with a pattern in the colours of the rainbow. At the end of it was a real dove. In my opinion, I support the message’s idea, because if someone is having a bad day, just the thought that someone cared enough to say a few kind words could brighten their day. When are grateful, you conserve money and you acknowledge that other people don’t live in your standards. If you are not grateful, you will always want more and you would always fell unsatisfied. This a good message to be shared, if everyone in the school was kind and grateful, then Laurier would be the happy and joyful environment it was a few years ago.

Today we had our first performance in a long time. Magician Steve Harmer performed fabulous tricks and shows for everyone, which definitely raised a huge round of applause from the school. The topic was kindness and gratitude; Mr. Steve explained the importance of kindness and gratitude with wonderful and entertaining shows. He performed tricks like playing with red light and making a rabbit appear out of an empty box. In my opinion, kindness and gratitude are definitely important skills to practice. They can change someone’s point of view, make somebody’s day, and possibly save someone. Thank you, Mr. Steve, for showing everyone such a great and important message.

Sorry for being late. Yesterday, we had our first school performance in a long time. I really enjoyed the magic show and I think it was fascinating . The magician showed us a lot of magic tricks which was very fun to me. I admire the magician and I like that he taught us to always be kind. Also, the bunny was extremely cute and fluffy. I like it so much! I’m hoping in the future, there will be more and more exciting school performances for us.

Today we had our first school performance in a long time, but did it disappoint, or did it exceed my expectations?

Firstly, I will be talking about the magic tricks that were performed. Near the start, Mr. Steve had the word kindness and one of the letters had a sticker and he shuffled the letters so instead of the K having the D did making like it disappeared. Secondly, another trick Mr. Steve performed is the elephant trick in which he had the elephant disappear, but he just put it on the side. The last trick I remember is the light trick where connected the lights do make it look like a lightsaber.

There are many lofty ideas of performance, for example, be grateful for what you have and even though someone will always have something better than you should be considerate because there is someone in the world who is less fortunate than you. Another example is how by helping people in the smallest ways you can make someone's life just a little better. That is why I agree with the lessons Mr. Steve taught because it encourages anyone to apply these lessons in their own lives, especially with the younger kids because they are very impressionable.

In conclusion, even though I did not enjoy all the shows and even though it failed from an entertainment standpoint it succeeded in moral standpoint just for its lessons alone.
