Primary Concert & Volunteer Tea

What a fantastic concert put on by the Laurier primary students and the Laurier choir. After the concert there was a tea held to thank all the volunteers who take time out of their lives to help support Laurier Elementary School. Thank you to all volunteers. Your support help make Laurier the wonderful place it is!

As a tribute to all the volunteers, this weekend I would like you all to volunteer some time and do something each day, (Friday and Saturday) to help someone else (family, friend, neighbours, coach, someone in need), that is above and beyond your normal responsibilities.
Example: wash the car, sweep out the garage, mow you neighbours lawn, help someone carry their groceries to the car, wash the dishes
Post what you did each day here on the web site.
Respond to 4 other posts with words of encouragement and praise!

Not this week but recently Andrew and I went on a tag day (collecting money for the corps) and volunteered 5 hours to give back to the corps. We met a drunk dude that was very drunk.

Today is one of my Mom's friend's birthday, so she is taking her out for dinner. I am babysitting her kids so they can go and so that she doesn't have to worry about them.

This week i'm basically helping my dad get around because he sprained his ankle very badly last week by playing badminton. The way i'm helping him is letting him putting half his weigth on me. He believes he dosn't need crutches. I disagree because he is getting pretty heavy.

SATURDAY: I did my laundry and put it away. Also I cleaned my room and the bathroom as well.

SUNDAY: After dinner I brought everything from the table to the kitchen and washed the dishes.

FRIDAY: Put away my skates to dry because if they don't dry, they rust. Usually my mom does that, but I decided to do that for her.

SATURDAY: Washed the morning dishes and helped clear my plates form the table from breakfast.

Saturday - I helped do my entire family's laundry throughout the entire process, such as loading, carrying, and folding.

I watered my mom's garden and tended to the plants. Usually she does it, but I did it so she could save some time for herself. I also sweeped the patio where the garden is.

SATURDAY

Before my badminton class, I helped someone make rolls. Rolls are like stack on stack of the birdie. It took me around 5 minutes to finish and he thank me and went off.
I also helped some one carry their 3 boxes of Tim Horton Donuts and in the end he afforded me one.

Saturday: I helped wash the dishes and I carried groceries. I started cleaning inside my house and washing the windows and sweeping the floors.

Yesterday we had a really busy day, and we had people coming over so of course that means that my Mom was stressed about our house being super clean and presentable (she is a perfectionist so it always is but anyways), so I helped her with any extra dishes, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning up the living room and vacuuming my room.

I mean I do this a lot, but I walked my Dog if that counts :)

I've had a super duper busy weekend, I had to put on two performances! But I squeezed in some time to help out.

SATURDAY: Usually after lunch and dinner, my brother and I will take our own bowls/plates into the kitchen and my parents will clean up the rest. I brought everything back into the kitchen when we were done and wiped down our table.

SUNDAY: My mom was getting ready to do the laundry so I put all my dirty clothes into the bin. Then I noticed my brother hadn't put his in yet (and he was asleep) so I put them in for him so he didn't have to wake up. Then I brought the big bin downstairs to the laundry room.
