Today students were introduced to our Personal Writing Alphabiography assignment. Studnets brainstormed many different topics they could write about. In the afternoon we  focused on completing projects due this Friday and worked on building background knowledge around Residential Schools and the meaning behind ORANGE SHIRT DAY! Students made a bulletin board to share what they have been leaning and to spread awareness and to show support for the First Peoples of Canada.

Hi Jeffrey,
Nice work! Depending on the writing topic, you might or might not want to use irony. For example, if you are writing a report to your boss, you would not want to use irony. Instead, you can say "Character and emotion". Also, I would say to write some more detailed information on technical terms, like adding capitalization and punctuation.

I like this list. One thing I would rewrite would be instead of saying "Use short sentences", I would say "Mix short and long sentences together" because sometimes sentences have to be longer.
