A fraction is a portion of a number, like how I’m done 1/3 of this blog post. A ratio is used to compare groups of things, for example 6:66 pennies to one dollar bills. There is a typo in this post, it says: “no the is not Mr.Fisher!!!”. If this is posted twice it’s because I refreshed the page too soon.

You should add more details to your answers. For example. In what situations would they be similar?

A fraction is two numbers that represents a whole. Such as 1/2. the 1 is how many parts of a whole it is being refereed to and the 2 is how much it takes to make a whole.

Oops. I meant "Ratios and fractions can represent the same thing when the ratio is comparing the difference between a whole and a fraction(s) of the same whole".

A fraction is a part of a whole, whereas a ratio is more of a balance. For example, you could have a 6th of a pie, but that would be different from 1:6. 1:6 represents for every 1 there is there is a 6. so if we had 4 then we would have 24, as 6 times 4 equals. Usually ratios are more common inside cooking, which could also be said for fractions.
