I hope everyone had a restful weekend and got caught up on any missing assignments. Today we will be starting a class novel study on  the novel, Refugee by Alan Gratz. Please follow the reading schedule and assignment due dates (click here to view). I think you will really enjoy this novel.

The learning intentions for this portion of the novel study are:
  1. I can document my thinking to make it visible 
  2. I can identify a big idea and support it using obvious evidence from the story

NEVER GIVE UP!
Many more people completed their work today after the email I sent to your parents and the little little pep talk we had in the morning meeting yesterday. Is very important that you complete all of your school work on time. Completing your work, receiving feedback and revising to improve is the best way to learn. I know it is difficult in our situation, but we must persevere  in the face of adversity. Make yourself a schedule and stick to it. We are all counting on each other during this difficult time! I know I am getting on your case a lot, but that is because I care about you and your education. Let's all have a strong finish to grade 7!

MATH LESSON AFTER THE MORNING CHECK IN TODAY
  • DO NOT BE LATE!
  • HAVE PAPER AND PENCIL READY TO GO!
IMPORTANT- For all five day weeks, word work tests and weekly math tests will be on Friday.

1) COMPLETING SCHOOL WORK:
  • Get it done! Do it well! Complete it on time!
2) WORD WORK:
  • Make sure your sentences are completed
  • Give feedback to your group: Give 2 people (1 star and 1 wish)
  • Everyone needs some specific feedback!
3) MATH ASSESSMENT:
  • TEST: Have your parents give you the Chapter 6: Test Yourself test (page 61-62) of the math handout.
TEST RULES:
  1. No Talking
  2. No calculator
  3. No devices
  • Together with a parent, use the answer key to mark your work. Have your parent sign the test afterwards and comment on FG that they supervised the test.
  • Upload the test to FG including the appropriate "I Can...." "I still need to work on..." statements

Mount Eaton from across the valley.
I hope you all had a restful weekend, got all your learning activities completed and took some time away from screens. I went out into the mountains this weekend to get away from the city and to spend some time in nature. I saw many opportunities to use the digital photography composition techniques during my outing.   • You have a 1 hr period to complete the quiz. The Quiz will close at 10 am

  • Included in your personal belongings is a math handout with various worksheets corresponding to the math focus text.
  • Complete from the beginning of the handout to page 60 (all sections on integers excluding the test)
  • IMPORTANT- Page 61 in the handout is a Test. You will take this test on WEDNESDAY and you must be supervised by one of your parents or an adult in your home
6) ART: Digital Photography (Due Monday April 27th)
  • Add a link to your SWAY project as a comment on  FG ( I will show you how to do this today after the morning check in)
  • Continue adding photographs in your assigned channel on TEAMS
  • Continue working on your Digital Photography Project on SWAY
