Micro:bit Programming!
Today we looked at some example of the art project we are working on. We used these examples to build success criteria for our project (click here). It was amazing to see how well students were able to do this! Now that we know where we want to get to, with a little hard work,  we will all be able to reach the destination! In the afternoon we had Sam, a trained Mirco:bit programmer, in to teach us how to use computer programming to create some amazing tools such and a light sensor and a digital thermometer. Some student even created a hypothesis to test if their thermometer could measure negative temperatures. We then put the micro:bit in the freezer and tested it! It was so awesome to see learned science in acton:)

Proportion in ARt

6/12/2019

Picture
The morning was spent working on finishing up our final round of fitness testing. Students ran the BEEP TEST for the fourth time. From recess to lunch students worked hard with Ms. Chung to prepare for the intermediate concert on Friday. In the afternoon students worked on their bodies in motion art. While students worked  on their art they each had a Year-End Report Conference with me. We looked at each students learning summaries for term 1 and term 2 and created an average for each subject area for their final report card.
1) Math:
  • Complete the assignment from Tuesday
2) Language Arts:
  • Home Reading 30 minutes
3) Post A Response:
  • Spend 15 extra minutes contributing to your household this evening The 15 minutes must beyond your usual contributions. For example, if your job is washing the dishes anyway this does not count. It must be 15 minutes extra.
  • Post how your contributed here!

Today students spent time going through their Fresh Grade portfolios and creating an Learning Evaluation Summary which will be used to create their Year-End Report Card. In PE we got started on our final round of fitness testing. It was great to see some students still improving their muscle strength and endurance in our 4th round of testing. AMAZING! Between recess and lunch we reviewed what it means to be a good digital citizen and learned that our digital dossier starts even before we are born. In the afternoon, we had music and started a visual arts project working focusing on movement and proportion.
IMPORTANT: Many of you have note yet paid for your Granville island field trip. Have your parents go online to update your fees. Thanks in advance!
