1. Solution: a liquid mixture in which the minor component (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent).

2. Dissolve: become or cause to become incorporated into a liquid so as to form a solution.

3. Matter: physical substance in general, that which occupies space and possesses rest mass.

4. Solute: the minor component in a solution, dissolved in the solvent.

5. Molecule: a group of atoms bonded together, representing the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical reaction.

6. Alloy: a metal made by combining two or more metallic elements.

7. Solubility: the ability to be dissolved, especially in water.

8. Particle: a minute portion of matter.

9. Substance: a particular kind of matter with uniform properties.

10. Dilute: make (a liquid) thinner or weaker by adding water or another solvent to it.

11. Elements: each of more than one hundred substances that cannot be chemically interconverted or broken down into simpler substances and are primary constituents of matter.

12. Saturated: holding as much water or moisture as can be absorbed; thoroughly soaked.

13. Emulsion: a dispersion of small droplets of one liquid in another in which it is not soluble or miscible.

14. Compounds: things that are composed of two or more separate elements; a mixture.

15. Suspension: a mixture in which particles are dispersed throughout the bulk of a fluid.

16. Mixture: the product of the random distribution of one substance through another without any chemical reaction.

Anything that takes up space. Matter that will be dissolved in the solution. Atoms. A metal. How easily a substance can be dissolved. Matter. Anything that takes up space. To make weaker. A pure substance. A solution that contains the maximum number of solutes that can fit. To put small drops of insoluble liquid in another. A group of elements. A mixture. A solution.

@Sonia and Jasmine- I think I made a mistake today about what a solute and solvent is.

Solute- Something that can be or is dissolved in a solvent.

Solvent- The thing (usually liquid) that is able to dissolve other substances.

With water and salt the water is the solvent and the salt is the solute.
