Week 1 is almost over. You have been working diligently! By the sounds of it, you were all working hard yesterday completing your maps by collaborating with your peers! Collaborating with your peers will be integral in your learning over the next few months! This will also help keep you motivated to learn! 1.) MATH:
- Please complete the make word problem from this week. Check Fresh Grade for feedback form me and make the necessary revisions/corrections.
- We will be staring a NEW math unit next week! (Integers and order of operations)
2.) LANGUAGE ARTS-Send the health care appreciation letter
- Talk to your parents/family to see if they know anyone who is working on the front lines during this pandemic.
- Try to get the contact details of this friend. If you don't know anyone, do some research online for one of the local hospitals, nurses union, your family doctor, etc.
- After you have made edits/revisions to your letter, email it out to this person or hospital and wait for a reply.
- Once you receive a reply, upload this on your FreshGrade activity where you uploaded your letter.
- Post a proper learning reflection about this activity. Be sure to mention why this was important to do and how it made you feel.
- Go to this link and read what the Getty Museum is asking of people in self-isolation.
- This link shows you examples of some artwork that people around the world have created during their time in self-isolation.
- LEARNING INTENTION: I can recreate a work of art with objects (and people) in my home.
1.) Choose your favourite artwork
2.) Use at least 3 items lying around your house to recreate your masterpiece. You may use more
than 3.
3.) Recreate the artwork with those items to make it look just similar to the original
4.) You must go to the FRESHGRADE activity and post your images there.
5.) You must also comment on this FRESHGRADE activity giving the information about the original
piece of art (title and artist).
6.) In your comment on FRESHGRADE, you must also explain how you went about recreating the
piece of art.
- You need to stay active during this time!
- Like you did a few days ago, take your resting heart rate and your active heart rate as soon as you stop your work out.
- Post this here! We want to see your resting/active heart rate over time. Be sure to post it here whenever you have a PE lesson.) You may want to start tracking this by date on a Google Sheet or Doc. You will submit your data later on to be assessed.
- Post a short video clip or picture of yourself doing some of 'PE WITH JOE's' exercises on FreshGrade.

- Mr. Hong and I fully expect all students to complete all assigned work to the best of your abilities. (Please have your parents contact us if are unable to complete any assignments for any reason)
- We will review the learning survey responses completed by your parents and your learning going forward will be individualized to reflect their responses.
- We will have your schedule and expectations ready for you by Monday morning.

SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) Read each post from this week CAREFULLY (Monitor Comprehension) Don't rush this!
2.) Any missed details must be completed.
For example, only 20 students have completed everything asked of you for the #HeartsInWindows activity. Keep in mind, you were asked to take a picture/video of yourself making noise at 7pm in addition to pictures of your hearts on your window. Many of you have yet to upload this pic/video.
4.) Respond to all feedback you have received from your peers and teacher to improve your work (on the daily PAR, and FreshGrade, Use the general feedback on the letters to make the necessary edits/revisions.
5.) Post a message here stating you have read 'EVERYTHING' and if you are confident you have completed everything.
6.) I will assess your work for completion over the weekend. Parents will be sent updates of your work over the weekend.
