Another exciting week of learning comes to a close. Today students had their first Reading lesson where they were introduced to the different strategies good readers use to show deep comprehension. Students also had their first science inquiry ecosystems lesson where they learned the components of ecosystems and started building small ecosystems to study in class over the next few weeks. The next few weeks are sure to be exciting ones. Have a great Thanksgiving long weekend. |
2.)PLANT ID PROJECT:
- Anyone who has not finished the project, make sure it is complete and handed in on Tuesday
- Plant identification Test will be on,Wednesday, October 13 so be sure to study over the weekend.

- Why is it importnat to learn about the plants in our community?
- Why is it importnat to learn the ways First Nations people used plants?
Learning Intention: I can using my background knowledge to clearly answer deep thinking questions
Success Criteria:
- Incorporates the question into the answer (example: I think it is importnat to learn the names of the plants in the community because...)
- Provides a personal opinion with background knowledge evidence
- The evidence/reason for the opinion is clearly explained
- Uses paragraph form with compete sentences, correct grammar and punctuation
- Read another studnets post and provide some peer feedback.
- Edit/Revise based on the feedback you receive.
