Today we had our science vocabulary quiz, worked on our beijing maps and got started on an integers unit in math. We learned a little about axioms in mathematics. Axioms are statements that are taken to be true within a system of logic. They are starting points from which other statements can be made. Example: axiom: a+b = b+a , therefore we can conclude that 4+3 = 3+4. With integers we agree that every positive integer has an opposite. 5 and -5. From these accepted truths we can do amazing things with math. |
- Post 2 examples or situations in the word that could be used to represent positive integers and negative integers. (2 examples for positive and 2 for negative)
