The Underground Railroad first started many years ago, when Africans were kidnapped and shipped to the USA.

They had arduous lives and worked monotonous jobs and they lived in squalid conditions. They were whipped, beaten, starved, sleep deprived, and even raped.

This started the Underground Railroad, a secret network of black and white people who helped slaves escape to the northern states.

Elton

The North abolished slavery, but the South didn't.

Emily
3/8/2022 08:47:03 pm

After the second slave act was passed, it allowed slave owners in the south to go and look for their slaves in the north. This forced many slaves who had journeyed to the north to go even farther north, to Canada.

The slaves had to work from sunrise to after sunset. They lived in squalid conditions, and often were half-starving. Making many slaved want to run away, and chase freedom. Thus, the underground railroad was created. To aid the slaves wishing to be free, to freedom. (the north because it was illegal there after war)

The Underground Railroad started many when many Africans were kidnapped and sent to the USA.

Himavanth

The northern states abolished slavery, while the south needed it because they have a perfect climate for plantations.

Waylon
3/8/2022 07:44:23 pm

The Underground Railroad was created by black ex-slaves and white abolitionists to help other slaves escape to the northern states, where slavery was abolished. But advocates for slavery still tried to catch escapees in the northern states to send them back to their owners. So, the Underground Railroad stretched even further to Canada, where slavery was already abolished, and escapees could avoid American jurisdiction.

People preparing for the integers test... please take my words of wisdom... negative times negative is positive... negative times positive is negative... positive times positive is positive... bedmas stands for brackets exponents division multiplication addition subtraction... a negative number to the power of an even exponent results in a positive number... a negative number to the power of an odd exponent results in a negative number... a positive number to the power of an even or odd exponent results in an even number... follow these words of wisdom and you shall ace your test...

What Himavanth said in a nutshell,
(-) * (-) = (+)
(-) * (+) = (-)
(+) * (+) = (+)
BEDMAS:
Brackets
Exponents
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction
**This is not going to be on the test** **x is a variable**
(-)^x = (+), where x is an even number
(-)^x = (-), where x is an odd number
(+)^x = (+), where x ≥ 0

Himavanth

They have arduous work and live in squalid conditions. The owners only provide little food, so the slaves only have energy to work.

Sonia
