If a number is divisible by 2 and 3, what is it also divisible by?

What is the GCF and the LCM of 244 and 1089?

What is the divisibility rule fo 7?

Max
10/17/2022 06:23:31 pm

1, Six is a factor of 2, and 3, so Six

2,265716 is lcm 1 is gcf (used prime factorization)

3, the difference between twice the ones digit of the given number and the remaining part of the given number should be a multiple of 7 or it should be equal to 0

Mr. Fisher
10/17/2022 06:24:31 pm

@Leo- Divisibility for 7 is not one of the learning intentions. Let's stick to these intentions.

Leo
10/17/2022 06:19:43 pm

wrong place sorry

Max
10/17/2022 06:19:08 pm

1, Divide 123 by 3 using divisibility rules
2, Prove that 72 is a factor of two using words and not equations
3 determine the Gcf and Lcm of 132 and 99

Leo
10/17/2022 06:31:25 pm

1. 1+2+3= 6 6divided by 3 =2 Yes

2. seventy two is an even number and all even numbers are divisible by two

3. 132= 2, 66= 33,2= 3,11. 132= 2,2,3,11 99=9,11=3,3 99=11,3,3
GCF= 11 times 3= 33. LCM= 2 times 2 times 3 times 11 times 3= 396

Max
10/17/2022 06:36:49 pm

Good work! but try to make it more understandable

Aryah
10/17/2022 06:50:08 pm

#1 is divisible by 3 because when you add all the numbers together, you get 6. That is all that it is divisible by.
#2 because the divisibility rule for 2 is if the last digit is an even number.
#3 I don't really know how to do this one on here!

Kiran
10/18/2022 07:58:55 am

1. The sum of the digits added together in the number 123 is 6 and 6 is divisible by 3 so 123 is divisible by 3

2. 72 is divisible by 2 because any number with a ones digit of 2,4,6,8 or 0 is divisible by 2, so 72 is divisible by 2.

3. The GCF of 132 and 99 is 33, and the LCM of 132 and 99 is 396.

Leo
10/17/2022 06:19:53 pm

If a number is divisible by 2 and 3, what is it also divisible by?

What is the GCF and the LCM of 244 and 1089?

What is the divisibility rule fo 7?

Max
10/17/2022 06:26:39 pm

Why did you have to give such hard ones

Jan
10/17/2022 07:29:55 pm

1. If a number is divisible by 2 and 3, it is also divisible by 6 because I know 2 and 3 are factors of 6.
2. This is quite hard but I am sure the GCF is 1. The LCM is… 265626 or 265716?? Hard.
3. Divisibility rule of 7, don’t know. Not in the learning intentions… Maybe ask like “what is the divisibility rules of 2,5 and 10?” Don’t know, you decide.

Thomas
10/17/2022 09:25:53 pm

Good job I like how you gave explanations for each question and even
for the one you didn’t know you still did the best work you could do.

@Max- This is because there was no assignment today. Just the inquiry!

Aryah
10/17/2022 06:40:16 pm

@mr.fisher, should i do the inquiry for math at school tomorrow?
And is there anything else that i have to do for math?

Mr. Fisher
10/17/2022 06:51:02 pm

@Aryah- Please read me the lesson and look at all picture examples that we did in class and try to do a couple on your own. There was no assignment today. We will have a pretest tomorrow on all the learning intentions tomorrow:)

Aryah
10/17/2022 07:40:01 pm

So would I make one of those posters things?

Aryah
10/17/2022 08:05:53 pm

How do I do it? What questions do i answer?

Aryah
10/17/2022 06:42:46 pm

1 what is the GCF of 35 and 50?
2 what is the divisibility rule for 6?
3 if the number ends in a 0 or 5, what number is it divisible by?

Nadine
10/17/2022 06:53:03 pm

1. The GCF of 35 and 50 is 5
2. A number is divisible by 6, if both 2 and 3 are divisible.
3. If a number ends in a 0 or 5, the number would be divisible by 5.

Aryah
10/17/2022 07:39:12 pm

Good job! You followed the success criteria!

Kaede
10/17/2022 08:10:05 pm

@ Aryah
I missed you at school today!
I think the answers are:
1 The GCF 35 and 50 is 5
2 The divisibility rule for 6 is:
If a number is divisible by both 2 and 3 it is also divisible by 6 because they are a fact family.
3 If the number ends in a 0 or 5 it could be divisible by 5 because when you count by 5 it always ends or the ones digit is always a 0 or a 5.
Am I correct?

Aryah
10/17/2022 08:29:36 pm

Good job! You got them all correct. I missed you too!

Nadine
10/17/2022 06:46:41 pm

1. What is the divisibility rule for 4?
2. Is 2451 divisible by 3 and 9? Explain.
3. What is the common multiple of 64 and 240?

zara (to nadine)
10/17/2022 07:19:29 pm

A1. The divisibility rule for 4 is if the last two digits of a number are divisible by 4. Example: 240 is divisible by 4 because 40 is divisible by 4. This works because hundreds, thousands, etc. are all divisible by 4. Adding more would mean just adding numbers divisible by 4.

A2. No, 2451 is only divisible by 3. This is because when you add the digits of 2451 the sum (12) is divisible by 3 but not 9.

A3. (I assume you mean "what is the lowest common multiple"). The LCM of 64 and 240 is 960. I know this because using prime factorization of both numbers leads me to multiply 3 x 5 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2. This equals 960, so the LCM of 64 and 240 is 960.

Jan
10/17/2022 07:16:18 pm

1. Is 12377884 divisible by 4? Explain.
2. What’s the LCM of 34 and 51? How can you find it?
3. Why is 6 a factor of 84? Explain.

Taedyn
10/17/2022 07:40:10 pm

1. 12377884 can be divided 4 because the last two digits are divisible by 4 (84÷4=21)

2.
34 68 102
51 102 153

the lowest common multiple is 102.

3. 6 is a factor of 84 because it can be divided by both 2 and 3.

Jan
10/18/2022 07:47:55 am

Good job. You got them all correct!

zara
10/17/2022 07:23:55 pm

1. What is the LCM of 150 and 40? Explain how you found out with the prime factorization method.
2. Is 789 a factor of 4? Why or why not?
3. Why does the divisibility rule for 9 work?

Emily. C
10/17/2022 11:47:38 pm

150. 40
15-10. 4-10
3-5. 2- 5. 2-2. 2-5
LCM = 2x2x2x3x5x5 = 600
No 759 is not a factor of 4 since 89 is not divisible by four and I don’t have to look at the hundredths place because four is divisible by all hundredths
The divisibility rule for nine also works if all the sums added together is a multiple of nine, the same as the rule for three and they would be the same since three is also a multiple of nine

Sam
10/17/2022 07:43:02 pm

1. Use the divisibility rules to determine if 144 is divisible by 6.
2. 438 is divisible by 6. Is it also divisible by 2 and 3?explain why.
3.What is the GCF and LCM of 42 and 91?

Thomas
10/17/2022 08:26:25 pm

1. Yes 144 is divisible by 6 because 2 is divisible due to 4 being an even number and 3 because 1+4+4=9 which is a multiple of 3.
2. Yes 438 is divisible by 2 and 3 because the divisibility rule of 6 is the number also has to be divisible by 2 and 3.
3. Lcm of 42 and 91 is 546 because 2x3x7x13=546 and the Gcf of 91 and 42 is 7 because that is the largest integer that can be divided evenly by both 42 and 91

Taedyn
10/17/2022 07:46:04 pm

1. Is 372687 divisible by 3? explain.

2. what is the GCF of 56 and 48?

3. what is the LCM for 48 and 32?

Sam
10/18/2022 04:54:46 pm

1. Yes because 3+7+2+6+8+7=33.
2. The GCF is 8.
3. The LCM is 96

Chloe
10/17/2022 07:53:43 pm

1. If 54 is divisible by 9, is it also divisible by 3?

2. Is 725,170,637 divisible by 5? Explain.

3. What is the GCF for 93 and 12?

Haydee
10/17/2022 08:17:41 pm

1. Yes, because 9 is a multiple of 3.

2. No, because the ones digit is not 5 or 0.

3. The of 93 and 12 is 3.

Chloe
10/17/2022 08:20:19 pm

Those are all correct! Good job! You don't have to, but maybe you should explain why you only have to look at the ones digit for #2.

gabriel
10/17/2022 10:19:57 pm

#1 yes it is divisible by 3 because 9 will always be divisible
by 3

#2 no because the number does not end with 0 or 5

#3 the GCF of 93 and 12 is 3

Kevin
10/18/2022 08:18:16 pm

1 yes because if it can divided by 9 it can be divided by 3 too because 3 is the factor of 9
2 no the last one has 7 in last digit but the first and second yes
3 gcf of 93 and 12 is 3

Kaede
10/17/2022 08:00:11 pm

#1 What is the GCF of 24 and 16? #2 Is 7654 a factor of 8? Why or why not? #3 If 3666 is divisible by 2 and 3 is it also divisible by 6?

Emily. C
10/17/2022 11:51:12 pm

The GCF of 24 and 16 is 8
7654 - 654/8 = 81.75 so no
If 3666 ère to be divisible by both 2 and 3 then yes it would also be divisible by 6

Kaede
10/17/2022 08:01:30 pm

Sorry that was hard to read!
#1 What is the GCF of 24 and 16?

#2 Is 7654 a factor of 8? Why or why not?

#3 If 3666 is divisible by 2 and 3 is it also divisible by 6?

Chloe
10/17/2022 08:14:43 pm

#1. The GCF of 24 and 16 is 8.

#2. No 7654 is not a factor of 8 because to find that out you would look at the last 3 digits (654) and divide them by 8. If the number (654) is divisible by 8, then the whole number is a factor.

#3. Yes because 2,3, and 6 are all in the same fact family (6÷2=3, 3×2=6, etc.) so if the number (3666) is divisible by 2 and 3, it has to also be divisible by 6.

Alice

2. Explain how the divisibility rule for 2 works.

3. What is the LCM of 75 and 100?

Diana
10/17/2022 09:24:22 pm

1. GCF: Maybe 4 (prime factorization tree)

2. You only needs to look at the ones digit because the other digits because there just groups of 10s. All groups of 10s are divisible by 2. So that why it works.

3. LCM: 300 (prime factorization tree)

Kevin
10/18/2022 08:23:43 pm

1 the answer is 2
2 you can see the last digits that show 2,4,6,8,and 10 because 2 is a factor of 10
3 40

1. Is 93736 divisible by 2? Explain briefly.
2. What is the LCM and GCF of 16 and 24?
3. What is the divisibility rule of 8?

Hayley
10/17/2022 11:05:27 pm

1. 93736 is divisible by 2 because it ends in an even number (0,2,4,6,8). We only have to look at the one's digit because all groups of 10 are already divisible by 2.
2.The LCM of 16 and 24 is 48 because when I count by 16s and 24s, the first common multiple is 48. The GCF of 16 and 48 is 8.
3. In order to determine whether or not a number is divisible by 8, you only have to check if the last three digits are divisible by 8 because all groups of 1000 are already divisible by 8.

Diana
10/17/2022 09:00:19 pm

#1 Why does a number needs to be divisible by 2 & 3 to be divisible by 6?

1. Explain the divisibility rules for 6.
2. Why do divisibilty rules work? Show an example.
3. Is 70 a common multiple of 7 and 10? Explain.

Emily. C
10/17/2022 11:53:27 pm

If 2 and 3 are both divisible by a number then 6 will also be
An example of a divisibilité rule that work is 2, which is where you just see if the last digit is an even number.
E.g 22524231527 would not work since “7” is not an even number
Yes 70 is a common multiple of both 7 and 10 since 7x10 is 70

Kevin
10/18/2022 08:28:25 pm

1 you only have to see the last digits that show 6,12,18 etc because that is the multiple of 6
2 example 2 you can see the last digit that show 4,6,8, and 10 because that is the factor of 2
3 yes because if you multiple 7 until 10 you get 70 and if you multiple 10 until 7 times you get 70
