Today, we did a Jackson Pollock inspired artwork. This morning, we went into Mr. Hong's classroom for art. Mr. Hong gave everyone an canvas for the painting. Then he gave everyone a number, I got 18. I also had to review the C-chart because I was talking. When it was my turn to present, I chose blue zone because I got into a fight with my brother. I liked it because I got to "rage" on the canvas. I liked how it looked because there are a lot of different colors and it looks like my hell(o).

As the last strokes of paint landed in spots on the canvas puzzle, I stepped back and looked at the big picture. Hmmm. Looks like the majority of the class splattered the colour orange. Is everyone mad, mean, or out of control? Or were they just joking? This morning, we worked on a Jackson Pollock-inspired action splatter painting to express times we were in one of the zones of regulation. I will tell you about what I did, how I felt, and my opinion on splatter painting.

First of all, I watched a couple of videos about action splatter painting, and how Jackson Pollock used to paint his artwork. I learned that splatter painting was a form of abstract art and that there were many ways to create this style of art, even though it doesn’t always require the action of splattering. Then, my classmates and I each got a canvas, and we arranged them into a puzzle on top of a sheet of paper to protect the floor and the nearest wall from the paint. Next, my classmates and I took turns splattering on the canvas puzzle. We chose a colour and explained what zone that colour represented, as well as the time we were in that zone. After that, we each had the chance to squirt a few strokes of paint onto the canvas puzzle till our turn was over. Luckily, my friend Angad and I stayed behind to help Mr. Hong clean up the paint bottles, and we each got a few extra turns.

Secondly, as the 4 primary colours in the painting (red, yellow, green and blue) represent the different emotions, splatter painting is a way to express how I feel. This is because I could choose one of the 4 primary colours to represent my emotions during the time I was in one of the zones of regulation. For example, I chose the colour blue because I was tired after an early morning hockey practice yesterday. I also chose the colour red for the time I was frustrated because I would miss my favourite TV show at night.

Lastly, I like the action splatter painting since it is easy for people to understand. This is because we could easily distinguish the colours from the painting (if it is not too messy) so we can learn what we feel from this painting. By enjoying a piece of artwork, I can explore the feelings of my classmates and me. That is quite interesting indeed!

The final art piece looks very messy, but I can see that it represents a variety of different feelings in my class. In the painting, the colours orange, blue and yellow are the most distinguishable. That means some students are angry, frustrated and out of control, others are sad and tired, and a group of students are excited, worried, and silly. I like this painting because it is very fancy, brilliant and artistic. It does look like a piece of abstract art. I want to do this again especially when my class and I are in the green zone. It might make it a totally different piece of art. In conclusion, we learned and experienced how splatter painting is like, it is a way to express how I feel, and I like the action splatter painting since it is easier for people to understand how we feel. Meanwhile, we created an absolutely beautiful painting!

In paragraph form answer these questions:
1. A basic introduction to the piece or project:
- What the piece is
- How it was made (technique)
- What medium was used (materials)

2. Short explanation of the idea being presented:
- Purpose of the piece
- What ideas does it share
- What you would like people to notice

3. Personal opinion
- Your favorite part of the piece?
- Describe why you like it
- Why does this piece represent you?

NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD KEEP IT SHORT
think that's it.

This morning, we arrived at school and did some splatter painting. Since Mr. Fisher was away when Division 1 did it, Mr. Fisher took Division 1 to the gym while Mr. Hong did the splatter painting with us (since it was already set up).

When we came in we first watched a video about an artist named Jackson Pollock. Then, we each got a turn splatter painting based on a time when we were either in the red, yellow, green, or blue zone. When it was my turn, I described a time when I was tired because my mom had to wake me up one morning.

At first, honestly, I thought it would be kind of nerve-racking but instead it felt pretty good to express my feelings to the class. I enjoyed it because I could tell everyone when I was in one of the Zones of Regulation. Another reason why is because it was fun splattering the paint all over the floor (even though I got my hands dirty).

In the end, I would be more than happy to do it again. :)

Have you ever done jack pollock inspired splatter painting?

Today we did. We went into Mr.Hongs room where it had been already set up from when div 1 had done it.

first we watched a video about jack pollack and what kind of art he does. later on every body got at least one canvas and we laid all of them out.
after that we got into splater painting we each got a turn to add to it based on a time where we were either in the blue zone, green zone, and the red zone.
I decided to talk about a time I was very tired I didnt have such a good day and had lots of homework I was in the blue zone.

in the beginning I was a little bit nervous but when I was done It felt good to be able to express my emotions to a group of people.

I enjoyed this project it gave me a chance to express my emotions threw art
also I could I go crazy with the paint, do what ever patter or technique you wanted to do.(on the canvas)
I realy like how this turned out I gave me a chance to see how every one was feeling in a zone of regulation.

over all I'd proboly be happy to do something like this again in the future.

Today, our class did a Jackson Pollock splatter painting. At first, I didn't know single thing about him, but after watching an educational video on him, I knew a bit more. But the hard part about this was where the zones of regulation came in. It required us to think of a time that we were in one of the zones to explain why we chose the colors we would choose. When it was my turn, I chose orange because I recently had a migraine that had robbed me of my sleep, so I was frustrated and almost angry. I explained it perfectly. But the painting was not as I had imagined. I didn't do much because the flow of the paint was not as expected which caused me to some how get it on my pants. In conclusion, the painting was not as I had expected, but the outcome of this looked quite stunning. In my opinion of course. I would definitely do this again if some one gave me the chance to.

Have you ever wanted a enjoyable way to release your stress, self-regulate, and bring yourself back to the green zone, while making a stunning work of art in the process? Then action splatter painting is the perfect activity for you.

Today, Mr. Fisher announced that our class would be going over to Mr. Hong's classroom to do some splatter painting. Everyone buzzed with excitement as cheers broke out; we'd waited eons to do this amazing art project! The class filed out of the room and across the hall to Mr. Hong's class. Once we were all settled, we had a quick review session on the zones of regulation. We then watched a video about Jackson Pollock, the person who started this astounding form of art. With our background knowledge built, we started to paint. Each person would describe to the class a time when they were in one of the four zones, then splatter and pour some paint in their desired colour (usually the colour of the zone that they were in) to express and represent their feelings on the large, multi-piece canvas. I described how I was feeling at that very moment; I was in the yellow zone, because I was going to have a violin competition later in the day and was brimming with anxiety. I chose the colour yellow, and "drew" with the paint bottle, letting it drip and making streaks and circles. It was exciting to hear about other people's experiences and watch them contribute to the group splatter painting.

Our art piece looks incredible, and I can't wait for it to be displayed outside for everyone to glimpse! This art project was extremely fun, and we got to express our feelings while not being out of control. I would definitely do it again!

I met the success criteria.

Splatter painting was so much fun! Today, while the other class went to gym, we got to do some splatter painting. Splatter painting got really famous because of Jackson Pollock. He was an amazing artist who did advanced splatter painting. In fact, he was our example of how to do splatter painting today. Jack Pollock would take a ton of objects and use them to create art. What we did was that we talked about how we felt and the reason behind it, then poured a colour onto the canvases. I really enjoyed it, and it made me feel good because everybody es feelings felt valid and were heard out. Even though in the beginning I didn’t think it’d turn out well, as everybody told a story the piece really came together. It was a funny experience too, actually! Just like Mr.Hong had said, somebody got it on the walls.

We got our pencils and got ready to participate in a group art project, I had been looking forward to this all week and it was finally here. The project was made by each individual student splattering paint on a big, blank canvas. Everything wasn’t going to be completely random though, we had to choose haw to express ourselves based on the zone of regulations and what zone we were in. In the zones of regulations there are the blue zone sad or tired, the green zone, calm and happy (what you want to be in), yellow zone anxious, frustrated or a little out of control and red zone completely out of control.

Before we started our painting we watched a video on Jackson Pollock the artist who I think created this style of painting. Ok, now I know that he probably has some kind of deep meaning behind these paintings and they look pretty cool and all, but I don’t think that he should be this famous or have his paintings sell for millions and millions of dollars. I mean I kind probably do the same thing as him if I had some paint, a big canvas and a room covered with paper towels. Some random guy on the street who isn’t color blind can probably sell their splatter painting and the rich people buying it probably would think that it has a deep meaning or something. That’s just my opinion though, what do I know.

After watching that video Mr Hong went ahead and modeled for us. Now it was our turn. Everyone went one by one to express themselves on that big canvas. People were swirling red on their, splatting some black, dripping some blue, people went crazy with all colors. I really enjoyed everyone’s different techniques. Another thing that I enjoyed was everyone’s story behind the paint that they chose, their were some really interesting ones and ever time I look at it I always know there’s so much orange and blue, and I felt everyone’s sadness, frustration, anxiety, anger, happiness and calmness. The finished result looked like a collective ball of emotions and I loved it. I really hope we do something like this again.

We got to do splatter painting today and it was arguably the best part of the day. We watched a video and a slideshow before we painted. The video was about Jack Pollock and how he was famous because of his splatter painting. He would use objects to imitate textures and make art out of it.

I enjoyed splatter painting as we got to express what zone we are/were in and pour paint on some canvases. It was funny when someone got paint on the wall and every dot, line or puddle had its own unique story. I wish to do this again sometime in the future.

Today we did Jackson pollock splatter painting. Today at school we we went into mr hongs room with a pencil and sat down. After that we were talking about the success criteria. Next we watched a video about Jackson pollock. Right after mr Hong showed us how to do it. I chose orange because I was in between yellow and red. I was orange because I was nervous because I had to leave volleyball early to go to my hockey game in cloverdale. I am in the red zone and blue zone right now because the game got cancelled because there was people filming something there and I left the volleyball game and drove all the way out to cloverdale for nothing and I am really tired right now. Back to the topic. I think it felt pretty good because it looked cool at the end with all the different lines, dots and splatters all mixed together with a variety of colours. I think my canvas turned out really good because it was around the middle and got a lot of paint on it. The Jackson pollock art was amazing.

With a bottle of blue paint in my hands, I squirted its insides out. I tried to make a raindrop-like pattern with it but ultimately failed, sitting back down in my spot directly after. I completed my part in the Jackson Pollock inspired painting, and had chosen the blue paint to represent the zone I was currently in: the blue zone. I was slightly tired from a lack of sleep and upset that I couldn't draw, which are normal feelings I have during school. Now that I think about it, I could've chosen the green paint as well, though I didn't feel too "green" at the time.

The final art piece was full of colour, like it was supposed to be. I found one specific canvas that I liked, which had a great balance of colour and wasn't a pile of paint. Overall, I wouldn't mind doing this again, but I'd rather not. It wouldn't really help with my stress if I had any, and I don't find splatter paintings to tell a story. Doing this didn't feel very satisfying either, as I don't take pleasure in expressing myself by splatter painting. I'd rather yell it out or deal with it in my head, as I normally do. That's just my opinion though, and I don't mean to be offensive. I apologize if I was too harsh!

i think i've met the success criteria
any feedback about the entry?

Today at school we did a jackson pollock inspired painting, where we slapttered paint over multiple canvases in the style of jackson pollock. Before starting the art, mr hong forced us to watch a video with some robot thing that somehow was able to become sick, and learned about the mediums jackson pollock uses and how he makes his art. After the video was over, we started the art and picked the colour of our paint depending on how we felt in the zones, and splattered it all over the canvas. It was very fun to be able to make it go all over the place and i would definitely do it again.

We had the long awaited Jackson pollock splatter painting today. I had been waiting for this for half a week and was really looking forward to it. We went into Mr Hong’s class and after going over the success criteria, we watched a video about Jackson Pollock. Jackson Pollock was an artist who created abstract art by spatter paint all over the canvas. Our colours were inspired by the zones of regulation. Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. Those were the main colours of the zones of regulation, but you could also use other colours like orange and purple.
Then it was time to do the actual spatter painting. People, one by one, went up and got a colour and explained why they choose it. It was interesting, hearing people talk about how are they feeling or how they felt because of something. It feel like it gave each stroke and drop of paint have meaning. The final art piece was full of colour, the most prominent colours being orange, blue, and red. Maybe it’s the fact that they stood out, or a lot of people choose to talk about those colours. Overall, I think that the spatter painting was a fun experience that I wouldn’t mind trying again. It felt nice spattering all the paint into the canvas, and taking out how I felt on the paint at the same time.

I was always looking forward to do the Jack Pollock splatter art. Last year, Division 1 had a lot of fun doing it, but somehow division 2 did not have a chance to do it. I was so jealous because it seems like they had a lot of fun. Finally, today our class did the Jack Pollock splatter art.

What we did is that we kind of combined the zones of regulation and the jack Pollock splatter art together. We use the color of paint to represent the zones we are in. Everyone in the class takes turn to choose a color of paint and explain what zone they are in, what's the cause, and what strategies they use to calm them down. After explaining, we get the color that match the color of the zones we are in and splatter the paint all over the piece of paper. I feel very excited when I am doing this, and I like how people went crazy when they are splattering the paint all around the paper. I really like how this activity let us learn the zones of regulation better and have fun at the same time.

For how it came out at last, I think it looks pretty good, but there are a lot of orange and red. I wonder if they are really in the red zone.🤔

Have you ever heard of splatter painting. Splatter painting was invented by Jackson Pollock in the 1940s. He was known for dripping and throwing paint like a mad man all over the canvas.

Today, we did that(not today but this is yesterday's PAR) in Div 1's classroom. First, we watched one of my least favorite cartoons, Mati and Dada. The way the stupid characters look is to stupid to even watch the cartoon. Mati looks like a homeless person and Dada is just a robot and ROBOTS CAN'T SNEEZE. Luckily, the cartoon was over and we had to do the splatter painting. Mr Hong assigned us numbers and we had to go up and explain how we are feeling, and then pour colors of the zone we are in. I talked about a time when I was in the yellow zone. I asked someone 6a whole squared and they said they were not stupid and they could answer it and they said 36a, which is incorrect. I said that it was the wrong answer and he called me stupid and ran away. I was then in a mix of the yellow zone and the blue zone.

In conclusion, I liked this activity because you get to throw paint everywhere and it's just cool to do that in front of your friends, therefore, I would like to do this again.
