A: Alpha One
"Test flight number 1. Set for takeoff." Announced Aaron.
He held the perfectly folded paper plane back in one hand, and aimed at the sky. Then, he threw the plane as hard as he could – even jumping a little – and watched the plane fly. The plane kept climbing higher, and at one moment, it stalled in the air, did a backflip, and dived toward the ground. At first I thought it was going to slam right into the pavers, like all of our other inventions, but it swooped up, skimmed a nearby tree, and landed gracefully on the pile of papers we used to make experimental paper planes. We all cheered and clapped for the new plane and it's amazing gliding abilities. But yet did we know that it would have a much longer journey to come, namely, Alpha One… There's no doubt that folding paper planes is one of my most favourite hobbies in my life.
I started a paper plane company named Baymax with my friends last year. Do you think running a paper plane company is easy? Not at all. Folding simple paper planes is very easy, but Baymax only accepts high-performance gliders, so our expectations are pretty high. We started with 2 designs, Alpha, and Rogue. These 2 designs founded the 2 squadrons, one named Alpha Squadron and the other, Rogue Squadron. Alpha One, as mentioned above, was the leader of Alpha Squadron for it's top-tier performance out of all the Alpha Class planes we made, and Rogue Squadron had a leader that compromised some speed for more glide. We also were always on the lookout for new paper airplane designs that suited us. For example, we found a unique design that lead to Gold Squadron. However, there was one particular design named the Star Crusher, which worked better than both Rogue and Gold Squadrons. On the other hand, the plane was super hard to fold, it took up too much space in hangars, and we couldn't come up with a squadron name for it, so we decided not to use it. Anyway, making paper planes requires lots of creativity.
But success didn't last very long, as the greatest loss was yet to come. Although we had lost countless planes in nuisances like trees, we still hadn't suffered such a great loss yet. It was named the Great Massacre of Baymax. During spring break, we lost most of our fleet, including the entire Gold Squadron, all of those planes suffering deformation. A few stronger planes, like Alpha One and Rogue One were able to survive deformation, but the rest of the planes were so out of shape that no folding would ever save them. With most of the planes gone, the loss was so bad that the hangar seemed almost empty. This tragedy taught us that we needed to learn from mistakes.
Still, we were a resilient team of workers, so we bore the designs in our minds, and we rebuilt a stronger fleet. Over the summer, we also lost a few planes from deformation, and we scrapped the Osprey Squadron, since it couldn't keep up with the other planes and needed a special paper that we no longer had, so we decided to throw those planes away(no sympathy for those planes). Now, it is the new school year! This time of the year is very special for us. It means new recruits, new special designs, and, more importantly, our first ever Anniversary at Baymax! We now have a new grand total of 32 planes, Cobalt, Alpha, Rogue, Gold Squadrons, as well as a new design that's beginning to shape up as Green Squadron! I never thought I'd make so many paper planes without the help of my friends. So far, the hard work in the team led to success.
Alpha One was the foundation of Baymax. Without it, I would never have thought of making 5 independent squadrons. Therefore, making paper planes are one of my most favourite hobbies in my life. First, making paper planes requires to be super creative. It also reminded us that we needed to learn from mistakes. Lastly, and most importantly, the hard work in the team led to success.

Do you guys have any feedback?

@Mr.Fisher I left my math handout at school but thankfully, Vyom helped me take pictures of the sheets. May I do the questions on paper?

The School Activity That Can't Be Beat

What's the best thing that school can offer you? Today you'll hear about the most enjoyable school activity for me.

It's research projects! My classmates think I'm uncanny when I jump for joy after a new research project is announced, as they're usually about as thrilled as a cat in water. Research projects are especially delightful for me because I enjoy the process of finding good websites with lots of information and taking notes. Collecting all the information I've found and combining it into a PowerPoint is another thing I love. In addition, seeing other people enjoy and learn from my presentation makes me have a field day! Research projects are good for many different subjects; a few topics that I've researched are the Chinese head tax, echolocation, Claude Monet, and even a project where you create your own element of the periodic table. My most recent research project was a group project on plant identification; the most hands-on project that I've done so far. We went on a walk around the neighbourhood to collect leaf samples, and made rubbings and sketches of them. All our pictures and notes were organized into one big PowerPoint to submit.

Research projects are extremely entertaining and educational, and everyone should try it out.

A Delicious Hands-On Learning Experience

What comes to mind when you think of a science experiment? Test tubes, fire, chemical reactions, baking soda and vinegar? This science experiment is completely different from any of those, and the best part is that it is very tasty!

This excellent hands-on experiment that my class did in grade 4 is making your own ice cream – you get to savor a tasty treat while learning the science behind how it was made. You add some salt to a large bag, then pour milk into a smaller bag and put it into the larger bag. Add some ice into the larger bag, and you're set to make your treat. All you need to do is aggressively shake it as if it was a sticky slime stuck to your hand, and within a few minutes the milk will thicken into a yummy ice cream! The milk turns into ice cream because the ice makes it colder, and the salt lowers the freezing point of anything it touches, allowing the milk to get colder without freezing. The shaking lets the salt and ice cool down the milk more evenly.

After eons of shaking until our hands were sore, we saw the milk steadily solidify until it was ready to eat. Everyone was thrilled to finally be able to enjoy the fruit of their labour. My classmates rushed to open the bag and dipped their spoons in to devour dollops of ice cream like a blue whale swallowing 1 ton of krill. Sadly, I was not able to eat the ice cream due to a dairy allergy. However, the process of making it was still very enjoyable, and I learned lots.

How many alphabiographies are we suppose to have right now?
