epa.gov (United States Environmental Protection Agency)

Currency: The EPA was created on Dec 2, 1970 (51 years ago).

Reliability: couldn't fine what sources or citations it uses.

Authority (of author): First Administrator, William Ruckleshaus, is a reliable author. He went to Harvard Law School.

Authority (of organization): The domain is .gov which makes it more likely for it to be a reliable source. The EPA is a good organization. They reduce waste and help clean up pollutants that might be harmful to the environment.

Purpose: The EPA's website doesn't seem to have any opinions. I can only see facts.

Therefore, epa.gov is a reliable source.

For currency, it's not about when the EPA was created, it's more like when the information was published. Other than that, I think it sounds good!

The source I am assessing is https://borgenproject.org.

Currency: At the bottom of the page, it states that the article was published on December 21, 2021, so it is very current. All the links still work.

Relevance: The Huffington Post says, "The Borgen Project is an incredible nonprofit organization that is addressing poverty and hunger and working towards ending them." This is a good thing, as the article is on malnutrition, which is definitely related to poverty and hunger.

Authority: The author is Isabella Gonzalez Montilla. I couldn't find much about her, but she has a fundraising campaign on the Borgen Project's website that you can donate to.

Accuracy: The links refer to other trustworthy websites, such as the UN News and CNN. This proves that the information is not false.

Purpose: All the information is facts. There are no opinions or biases.

Emily

Another thing - the domain is .org, which stands for a non-profit organization and is usually quite reliable.

I will use the Cr**p test on gov.bc.ca. It is current because it talks about current problems canada is facing and it is a government website so it has to be updated. Don't have a question for it to be relavant. No authority. Has to be because it was made by the government of Canada and not an individual person. It is accurate because I see the same information on other websites too and has proof that it is real because it has images. The purpose of the site is to inform canadians on what is currently happening.

Have you ever heard the word "CRAAP" before?

I know It may sound like an inappropriate word, but its actually a really helpful acronym to find out if the information on your source is reliable or not, considering a lot of the time online the information isn't very accurate.

What does each letter represent you ask?

C is for currency see if your website has been up to date in the topic your researching.
6
R- is for reliability if your websites end in .edu or .gov its most likely to be correct, but not as much on .com or .net. another thing is to check where or who this information is coming from and the organization.

A- stands for authority is your information coming from a university or person you can search up?

The next A stands for Accuracy Try and find similar information on other websites to make sure its accurate.

The P stands for Purpose is the authors trying to state facts or opinions? though some opinions aren't bad its better if its facts.

I am going to try the CRAAP test on controlaltachieve.com

C-Currency the website has new stuff most of the time there last update was today.

R-Reliability Most of there information can be found on other websites besides the online courses run by the owner.

A-Authority(author)when you search up Eric Cults the aurthor not much comes out besides his different social platforms and email.

Authority(organization) On the website nothing is found on what organization he may work for.

P-Purpose The purpose of the website is to help students and give them tips for school related work.

Over all I would say this website is not the most reliable source but still okay.

Website/Book: bccdc.ca (website)

Currency: The website updates daily and revolves around a current topic. According to my attempts, the links on recent posts still work.

Reliability: The website gets their information from reports coming from hospitals and professional scientists, so the sources are reliable. Most websites use this website as the source, so the information would be mostly the same anyway.

Authority (of the author): The "leader" of the website has revealed their name. They also take part in leadership in other big projects, and they have master degrees in several scientific fields.

Authority (of the organization): The domain is ".ca" which tells that it's a very reliable website.

Conclusion: bccdc.ca is a reliable source.

I often visit the How to Hockey website to get information to improve my hockey skills. This website is run by a couple of guys who love hockey and want to help others improve their game. They are constantly creating new content to entertain, educate or motivate hockey players so that anyone, anywhere can enjoy the best game in the world. Every week they get comments from people who have used their tips to improve their skating, shooting, and stickhandling! I think this website is very reliable.

Currency: The latest update of their website was 3 months ago (that was in October 2021). They keep providing new content according to the questions and comments and they collect every day.

Reliability: The hockey coaches often consult professional coaches for better ways to improve a player’s skills. In addition, the instructors can demonstrate fantastic individual skills in practice. Once I master the skills, I find them quite useful in a real game.

Authority of the Author: The main author and instructor, Jeremy Rupke, is a good hockey player, and he has a desire to continually improve. Coach Jeremy is studying the pros, watching how they shoot, dangle, and skate. He watches the videos in slow-mo and picks out small things, then tests them and implements them. If he notices improvements, he will have a deep understanding of what works, what doesn’t work, and why it works. The coach then passes that information onto his readers via articles and videos. He breaks everything down step-by-step and makes it as easy to understand as possible.

Authority of Organization: This website is one of the most popular websites for people who love to play hockey. How to Hockey has existed ever since I started playing hockey. Also, over 300,000 hockey players are subscribed to their YouTube channel.

Purpose and Point of View: The point of this website is to get some really solid hockey instruction, articles, drills, and how-to videos online. When coach Jeremy was growing up, he never had the opportunity to hop online and learn a new move. He was so desperate to learn some good moves; he even paid money to get some hockey videos. Today, not every child, or parent has lots of money to spend on hockey, so coach Jeremy wanted to provide some great hockey tips for free. Also, in the hockey world, there are always other methods to improve hockey skills. This website is mainly based on coach Jeremy’s personal experience and understanding. Anyway, this website does provide me with lots of useful information on playing better hockey.

The website I chose is electrek.co

C. The article I was reading was talking about CES 2022 and the rest of the articles seem quite up to date so I think the content on this website is pretty up to date. The website was also made on September 12 2012 so it’s been up to date for a while now.

R. The domain of the website is .co so it may not be completely reliable

A. The owner of the website Seth Weintraub received a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California

A. Electrek is a company that supplies Tesla with electricity

P. The editor has a bachelor of science at full sail university and was also a copyeditor for 9to5mac

This website is reliable
