I think that the big idea was that being kind is by being nice in different ways. It is also very hard, another big idea I though of was a quote in the book. "Small things can make a big difference too." The two thinking strategies I used were: visualizing, and thinking. I don't know if either were a strategy's but they helped me a lot. I visualized what I could do to help someone. And thinking how I could help people, who I could help, when. These were the thinking strategy's I used. I've read this book before so it really didn't help since I thought of what was going to happen and what she thought was nice. But I do a few nice things a day and I'm gonna try to get nicer through the school year :))

@Tyler — Elaborating means to describe or to go into more detail.

In this video, it tells us about what is kind andd how to be kind. My big idea was always to be kind in any situation, even if people laugh at you when you did something messy or embarrased, try to be kind. Be kind can really be saying thank you or you are welcome after people help you. Be kind can really let people feel good. The two reading strategies that I use were set a purpose and use my background knowledege. I understand the video by setting a purpose and I think it is about how to always be kind. Then I use my background knowledge and I remember I had be kind before by picking garbage from the ground.

Great job on your paragraph Danise.
Next time make sure you edit and look for mistakes like typo mistakes. Still, great job!

What does being kind mean to you? To me, the big idea was to help others and make them feel better if they feel down. I used the mind pictures strategy and also the real pictures in the book to help me understand the big idea. For example, one picture shows the main character saying thank you, bless you, what’s new, and good afternoon. As she said these things, she started to understand what being kind was. Also, I used visual thinking to understand it more by writing down the time stamp in parts like 4:06 in the video. It’s kind of like highlighting because you basically “highlight” that part of the video. It was very easy to get the message because the reader was speaking loudly and clearly. That’s what I think the big idea is.

Be kind is a great book. The big idea to me is that little things matter. for example, if every living person on the earth picked up 1 plastic bottle, the oceans across the globe would be much cleaner. Two reading strategies I used were "background knowledge" and "visualizing". I pictured different scenes of the story in my mind as I read along. I am still visualizing little pieces as I am writing this paragraph. I used my background knowledge from the past when I felt something like this. I was painting in class when i spilt all the black paint over myself. Everyone laughed. I understand what Tanisha was feeling from my past experiences.

Do you think it's important to have kindness in our world? Why or why not? The big idea for me, means that kindness is a crucial thing in this world, it can help many people with life, and they can even remember it for the rest of their life span (but keep in mind, it can go the other way around)! The two strategies I used are visualizing and background knowledge. In the video provided, Tanisha spilt grape juice all over herself, and everyone started laughing. That reminded of me when before, some of my classmates was splashing puddles of water over another kid, and they started laughing. I had visualized many scenes, some are very heartwarming, and some are super cold. It was really sweet when the girl thought about helping Tanisha, and very sad when everyone was laughing at Tanisha. These are all the information I had gathered through my thinking and the video to form a big idea.

I think the paragraph is really good, but there are some places where the sentences get a little choppy. Like near the start "The big idea for me, means that kindness is a crucial thing in this world" The comma kind of splits the sentence, making it less fluent to read.

Do you think we need to be kind to everyone? Why or why not? In this video is about is be kind to everyone don’t bully people, because be kind is can helps a lot of people feeling and their life!! But being mean to people if will influences entire life or make people sad. My big idea of the story is be kind to everyone even that you don’t know who is it! Two strategies that I used are visualizing and background knowledge, i used visualizing to think what is look like when someone is be mean to you or you are being mean to others! Also I used background knowledge to make connection to the story to find out what is the big idea! For example, Tanisha spilt grape juice all over herself, and everyone started laughing. That make to me know if sometime I Accidentally spilt paint on shirt and my classmate were laughing at me, what would I feel? Example 2: if your classmate spilt some juice on her/his shirt and we all laugh at he/her. Do you think the people feel good about it? So every time we must turn back the thing to think about like for example you are the person the laughing at would you feel??

"Kindness is a gift everyone can afford" This quote states that you don't need any cash to be kind. Kindness is very important because it brings people together by helping each other out. I believe that the big idea is to be kind even when no one's here to support you. In the video the girl was the only one not laughing at Tanisha for spilling grape juice. After she choose a mission to make Tanisha feel better even though others didn't. She did her best and at the end Tanisha felt better. I used reading strategies like visualizing and background knowledge. I visualized being the one stuck in Tanisha place if I spilled grape juice all over me and people laughing at me. I used background knowledge by remembering the time when I was being kind to a friend. That's why I think we can all be kind to others.

How can something grow from a tiny spark into a whole firework of events? Be Kind is a great book of demonstrating kindness. I think that the big idea of this book is that kindness can spread rapidly fro one person to a whole town. The two reading strategies I used were to set a purpose and to use my background knowledge. During this read aloud, I was alert of my thinking, connections, and background knowledge because I knew this would be valuable information as I am writing this paragraph. This allowed me to understand the book better and come up with a big idea. One significant memory that I connecte to this book was when I was painting a creation I just made. I accidentally mixed the green paint with the white paint. Everybody treated me like I made the biggest mistake ever. I tried to shrug off, but it was hard with many voices swarming around me. Although I knew it wasn't a big mistake, I still felt guilt inside me. This made me understand how Tanisha felt. This is what I thought when I was listening to Be Kind.

Because I was aware of my purpose, I was constantly generating different thoughts. This allowed me to pay attention to the book better and generate a reasonable big idea. I think the big idea of the book, like the title says, is to be kind to others. I think this is the big idea because it explains why it is important to be kind. The two strategies I used were visualizing and some deeper thinking. It was pretty easy to visualize the book because it had drawing s in it already, this helped me to understand the big idea by showing the people laughing at her, and showing how sometimes being kind was hard but still important. I used to deeper thinking to see how I could be kind. Like at 4:55 in the video, it says that we can do small things, but those small things added together can create larger things, this helped me to understand the big idea by saying why being kind was important. In summary, even small kind things can still become large ones.

Kindness comes in different forms. It can be as little as a daily hello or good morning, to helping others out in times of need. In the story, Tanisha spilled grape juice on herself and everyone laughed at her. The girl in the story decides to try to help her feel better, and to be kind. She then wonders; what does it mean to be kind? She goes through many examples of being kind, from helping others, paying attention to others, recycling, saying hello and addressing others, sticking up for others, and just supporting others can be a form of kindness too. I think the BIG IDEA is that kindness can be shared in different ways, and if everyone contributed to their portion of kindness given, the world can be a better place. I found the BIG IDEA using the reading strategies of VISUALIZING and BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE to picture how Tanisha felt when she poured the grape juice on herself. Kindness is very important, and I think that we all should continually spread kindness.

Have you ever wondered, being kind could change your life? Because you get all the respect from the people you respect.

The BIG IDEA about the book Be Kind is.. This book could help change people and that's how everyone will learn how to be kind to someone, being kind means, being polite, helping, and caring! Being kind does not have to be a big act, for example in the story it said that maybe I should spill all the juice on me. You don't have to do that for someone. If that kind of situation happens, you could make them smile, not make them think about the past, and be kind to anyone, and kindness improves your mood and makes you feel positive about yourself and the world, so always be kind!

Kindness is everywhere, but sometimes it can be difficult to do. The big idea of the book is that sometimes small things can make a big difference in someone else's life. The first strategy I used was connecting. When she told everyone her favorite color was purple, I connected to my friend who liked purple and was made fun of for it. This made me feel sorry for my friend and for Tanisha from the book. My second strategy was visualization. I visualized the examples of kindness in the book, and saw that the kind things made people happy. In conclusion, I think kindness is very important because they might remember it for a long time.

I think the big idea is for us to be kind. It says that when we're being kind even small actions can help make someone happier and possibly even fix a bad day. I used 2 reading strategies to find the big idea. One of them which is reading and listening along with the video, it may not seem much, but when you read something it could help. I read and listened to the narrator lady talk about being kind so it helped me. The second strategy that helped me is visualization. When there's only limited pictures in the book, you sometimes have to think of some of the pictures yourself, inside of your head. When I was listening and visualizing, I thought of kind actions, and connected some of them to the pictures in the book and realized it was about kindness. So that is why I believe the big idea is about kindness.

Kindness is about helping people but it is not right just to judge someone. Judging people is not ok because people judge them by skin colour, looks, and thier racist but it doesn't matter the way they look you van still be kind to that person no matter because judging people is not ok. Once you judge someone they feel like no one is going to like them anymore because they're hurt and we don't want that anymore so help people no matter who cares what they look like just help them.

Why is it important to be kind?
The books main idea is about being kind to others even with small gestures. I used reading strategies such as visualizing and using background knowledge of what I heard/read. The illustrations made it easier for me to picture what happened.
Being kind to others is important even if it’s just a compliment.
