9/26/2022

Picture
Today was a busy day of learning! Students got new word work words and continued their first round of fitness testing. In Math students learned how to explain the divisibility rules for 2, 5 and 10. The afternoon was the launch of our social studies inquiry unit. Students will do a mini inquiry to practice the skills and processes needed to carry out a larger inquiry focussing on social studies content and skills.
1.)WORD WORK: Unit 2 word analysis. Test THURSDAY!

2.)MATH: Math Focus p 6 #1-11 (click)

3.)HOME READING: 30 Minutes

4.)SOCIAL STUDIES INQUIRY: 5 Questions (Wednesday)

5.) POST A RESPONSE:

Learning Intention: I can use word work words correctly in a sentence.

Success Criteria:
  1. Write 8 complete sentences using 8 different word work words.
  2. The sentences must show the meaning of the word.

The factors for 6 are 1, 2, 3, 6.

In 500 divided by 10, the 10 is the divisor.

In 500 divided by 10, 500 is the dividend.

In 500 divided by 10, the quotient is 50.

All even numbers are multiples of 2.

The only one digit prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7.

All the numbers that are not prime numbers are composite numbers.

The goal of this year is to take ownership of our own learning.

𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧: A 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 has two factors, one and itself.
𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠: If your friend asks you for feedback for her social studies draft, instead of just saying "it looks good," you should provide some 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 so that your friend has something to work with.
𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨: Mr. Fisher reminds us constantly of the Big 6 Learning 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨 so that we will always remember it and use it to be successful in our learning.
𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩: When you multiply two things together, your answer is called the 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩.
𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚: Sometimes, our teacher needs to remind us to 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 our body and environment so that we can focus on learning.
𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖: Together as a class, we brainstormed and came up with a 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖 to make sure we knew what we needed to do in order to be successful in our learning.
𝙀𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨: The sieve of 𝙀𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨 is an algorithm made by the Greek mathematician 𝙀𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨, and it helps you to find prime numbers.
𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩: I like to ask more than one person to help do my 𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 because then I get different and more varied feedback, as different people have different views and advice.

When you are done, make sure you get a peer assessment.

Make sure to self-regulate when you are working.

A product is the answer of a multiplication question.

The learning intention is that you can use word work words correctly in a sentence.

A number is a prime number if it can only be divided equally by 1 and itself.

1, 2, 5, and 10 are all factors of 10.

Every number that ends in 0 (or has 0 in the ones place,) is a multiple of 10.

Make sure you give descriptive feedback to two people after.

Factor – Three and six are factors of 18 since eighteen divided by three equals six exactly, and it’s the same the other way around. (The other factors of eighteen are 1, 2, 9, and 18.)

Multiple – The multiples of three are the numbers that are fully divisible (therefore their remanded would be zero) when divided by three. E.g) 6, 15, 27, 36 etc.

Prime number – Three is a prime number because the only ways of writing it as a product are 1 x 3, 3 x 1, which only involves in itself and the number one.

Composite number – Twenty has factors 1, 2, 4, 5, and 10, so it is considered a composite number.

Dividend – E.g when we are dividing 63 animals to 7 animal shelters the dividend is the number 63; and the number 7 is called the divisor. 63 divided by 7 = 9

Product – E.g: 4 x 7 = 28 Here, the number 28 is called the product of four and seven.

Quotient – The number we get when we divide one number by another is the quotient. E.g: 8 divided by 4 = 2, here the product was 2 which in this case would be the quotient.

Divisor – If you have 12 books and if they were to be divided into three piles it would be 12 divided by 3; here, 12 is the dividend and 3 is the divisor.

Self-regulate – It is important to self-regulate during lessons to achieve your full potential of being a student, aswel as a way of showing your emotional intelligence as a leader.

Principles – One of multiple principles is being able to behave and achieving ways to act in accordance with knowing what is right or wrong.

Learning intention – If you have a learning intention it is a good basis for tracking a students progress, including giving feedback and assessing the achievement that has been done.

Success criteria – Success criteria is there for you to create standards for yourself which then you will be able to judge if you’ve been successful in which.

Peer assessment – Peer assessments allow students to assess their own progress with other rather then always relying on their teacher.

Descriptive feedback – Is information given to another person to help then achieve better then what they have already don’t and also encourage them by telling them they’ve don’t a good job.

Ownership – When you’ve done something wrong, you should take ownership and acknowledge your mistakes.

Eratosthenes – Eratosthenes was a mathematician whom is most known for calculating the earth’s circumference.

PRIME NUMBER only have two FACTOR 1 and itself
When do individual work we have to make sure that we understand and we are SELF-REGULATE

And we have LEARNING INTENTION because as a student our job is to learning
When we do a team work we have to show about OWNERSHIP to don't distract other group
We also learn about ERATOSTHENES the great mathematics
We have to get our DESCRIPTIVE FEEDBACK to show our big 6 learning PRINCIPLES
And we only have to see the last digit number because example when we MULTIPLE 8 we can get 100 until 1000
