Today we had a comprehension evaluation on the characters and plot of Forbidden City. Included in the assessment were some questions explaining and sharing some of the deeper meanings found in the story. Students had to share their opinions and give supporting evidence found in the text to back up their thinking. Sharing your thinking with supporting evidence is one of the most important skills you will lean in school. |

I was shocked when I found out that many people in China at that time did not have access to world news, or even local news. The people in Nai-nai's house did not have anyway to get news about what ws happening in their own country or in the world.
