Today we spent the morning continuing to prepare for our student-led conferences Wednesday and Thursday. Students are all ready to share their learning with their families. It is going to be awesome! After recess Division 1 and 2 continued sharing and learning about beliefs, values and world views. Student shared their thinking and, as a group, organized their ideas into several different topics. After lunch, all Laurier intermediate students had a presentation by brain expert Gary Anaka on how the teenage brain works. It was amazing to learn about how our brains work and how important it is to take care of your brain. This evening there is a parent presentation in the gym at 7pm where all parent can come and learn about the teenage brain. I would encourage all of your parents to attend if possible as they all have teenagers! Yes, I am talking about you! |

3) Post A Response:
- Write a paragraph response on the main idea of the presentation on THE TEENAGE BRAIN.
- A good response includes: a catchy interesting intro/hook, the main idea, supporting details from the presentation, your opinion and thinking explained in detail, and an conclusion.
- Mr. Anaka ended his presentation by giving us 3 tips on taking care of our brains. One of those tips was GRATITUDE. He encourages us everyday to as ourselves the question, "What am I most grateful in my life?" and then to write it down. If i was writing a paragraph about the presentation I think I would use the answer to his question as my conclusion! (wink, wink)
- Give another student some peer feedback on their paragraph
- Edit/revise you post
