Have you ever dreamed of becoming the fastest man on Earth? It always seems so unreal. But to our surprise, our class, along with Division 1, had a virtual meeting with one of the fastest athletes on Earth, namely, Ronnie Baker. First, he introduced himself, as well as his journey to the Olympic Games in Tokyo, and finally, we got to ask some questions. I was so excited for this unique and precious experience!

Overall, we learned from Ronnie Baker that he has three most important values. The first one is adaptation, which is to be flexible and change according to the natural surroundings. For instance, as an outdoor athlete, he needs to adapt to the varying conditions of the racing environment, such as temperature, wind, humidity, brightness, and potentially, low air pressure (at venues with high altitudes).

Next, is hard work, which is to try his hardest and be the best he can. As mentioned in the meeting, Ronnie Baker has an extremely tight practice schedule every week, and works super hard to keep himself from eating too much sugary foods, to make him stay fit for racing.

Lastly, is humbleness, which means to keep his self-importance at low levels so that he doesn’t become overconfident. Based on my research, Ronnie Baker is regarded as a remarkably humble person because even though he has become so successful, he still knows how quickly his fortunes can change.

When the meeting ended, I felt that time flew by so quickly. Meeting with a world-famous athlete was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I was so excited. Minutes later, Ronnie Baker’s words were still wandering around in my mind. In conclusion, Ronnie Baker’s three most important values are adaptation, hard work, and humbleness.

P.S.: I have met all the success criteria featured on Mr. Fisher’s Website.

There were a lot of inspiring words that came from Ronnie baker, and I was glad to have the opportunity to meet him. The most important thing he talked about was the three principles that he follows all his life, being adaptive, hard-working, and humble. From that, he taught us to dream big and to not let anyone stop us from reaching our dream. Advice like setting smaller goals on the journey to reaching the big goal were influential to us. Other than his teaching, he also shared stories and details about his personal life that were very interesting. For example, his biggest regret of being a professional athlete was not being able to eat candy anymore! Overall, he seems like a super nice guy and this meeting we had together will definitely be a memorable moment of my life!

Getting to know Ronnie Baker was an exciting experience. He introduced himself and talked about his life such as his running career, family and discussed about the his three principles which were being adaptive, hard working and humble. He educated us to dream big never let people interfere you from achieving your goals. We got to ask questions about him and it was exhilarating. Did you know that he had to give up junk food for track and field? I certainly know I can’t. Overall I think it was awesome we got to talk to him and I wish to do so some time again.

Today, my class and I got to have a Zoom meeting with Ronnie Baker. I learned about how he went to the Olympics, and some other things because other people asked some questions. I learned about his three principles, which were being adaptive, hardworking, and humble. He taught us that you shouldn't let anyone interfere with you getting to your big dream. I was surprised when he said that he didn't originally do track and field and started with basketball. Did you know that he gave up junk food for track and field? I learned a lot about him and how he ended up fifth at the Olympics. I hope we can have a Zoom meeting with another Olympian like Andre de Grasse sometime soon.

Having a chance to know Ronnie Baker was an exciting experience. He introduced himself and told us a bit about his career and give some advice to us. His three principles of success were being adaptive, working hard and being humble. That was nice, as even he is a Olympic athlete who has won a lot of medals, he didn’t forgot were he came from and isn’t absorbed into the fame like other stars. Then, there was a q and a session. Though that, we got to know facts like him being a track and field athlete was not his original goal, or that giving up junk food and sweets was a big sacrifice for him. Overall, he gave us a lot of good advice and this was a memorable moment.

Having Ronnie Baker tell us about himself was a great experience. One thing I liked was him telling us about his principles of life, which were being adaptive, hard-working, and humble. I thought those principles were great, and I want to use them in my life too. Another thing I liked learning about was about his goals. He talked about having a vision of your life and to make small goals to get there. It made me inspired to make goals more and plan my vision for my life. An interesting thing I learned about was his greatest sacrifice, which was not being able to eat sweets and junk food. He explained that he needed to go on a diet to be able to run well, and that it was hard because he loved sweets as a kid. Learning about Ronnie Baker was great, and very inspirational.

Today, our class and Mr.Hong's class had a call with Ronnie baker. Yes!!! Ronnie Baker! You read me!! He was the fastest man in the world in 2017. He said lot's of inspiring words, I listened what he said very carefully.

My most favourite part was when he said his 3 big principles. His 1 principle is being adaptive. He also said that being adaptive means not making any excuses doing your work on time and getting used to it. It means that your body has to get adaptive to something you've set you're goal to so. You're body slowly keeps on adapting what you're doing you could also be and expert on it if you keep on doing it because then you're body will get adapted! His Second one is working hard which is also a little bit similar to getting your body adaptive. You always have to work hard to achieve you're goals. Finally, his third big principle was being humble there is also a little form for explaining humble. Hardworking, Understanding, Modest, Brave, Loving and Easy going. This explains the word humble very well. I had the greatest time it was really fun and I also got to know a lot about him because some of the students asked him some questions so I did get to know a lot about him. It was a great time!

Today is one of the days I'll never forget, because I had a zoom meeting with one of the fastest human being on earth---Ronnie Baker. He told us how he became goes in the Olympics, and some stories about his early life. One of the main thing we learned was his three principals, adaptive, work hard , and humble.
Being adaptive is being flexible, for example he needs to be able to the same thing under different pressures, and in different environments. Hard working is to try your best, and don't give up. And lastly, being humble, being humble is to not be too confident about yourself, but also not being unconfident . He also told us that having a big dream is important because if you never thought of doing something, you couldn't do it.
The time went pass very fast, the meeting soon ended, and I learned a lot of things from him.

Today at school, we had an amazing zoom meeting with Ronnie Baker. One of the things we learned is that he wanted to be part of the NBA when he was young. Another thing we learned is that he was inspired by a track and field sprinter named Tyson Gay. Lastly, he taught us the three principles of success which were being adaptive, work hard, and to be humble. Ronnie Baker is really inspiring.

Getting to know Ronnie Baker was an exciting experience to say the least. He told us some very inspirational things which could motivate some of the students. My favourite part was when he talked about his big 3 principles in life. His first principle is being adaptive, working hard and being humble. He talked about what it was like in the Olympics and what motivates him and answered our questions. You know that he started with basketball not track and field weird huh. Did you know Ronnie baker had to give up candies and sweets to maintain his career as an Olympian. I learned so much about him like how he ended up in 1st place in the 60m run. I hope we get a chance in the near future to talk to another Olympian so they can tell us there story.

Meeting an Olympic athlete is a once in a lifetime opportunity, getting to learn from one is a whole other story. I got to learn about his big three principles which helped him get to where he is now in his track career. His principles are to be adaptive, work hard, and to always be humble. He has inspired me to come up with 3 of my own principles to live by to help me become a better person, or to help me accomplish my goals. Another thing I learnt from him was that when you have a big goal you want to accomplish, it makes it a lot easier to set small goals to help keep you motivated. One more thing I learnt from him is that when you want to accomplish your dreams, it takes sacrifices and lots of hard work to get there. I have learnt so many other things from the short time that he talked to us, and I am very grateful for this opportunity to learn from him.
I have completed everything on the success criteria

Ever talked to a famous man from the olympics? Bet that you probably haven’t. But I did, that’s for sure! Today I met the olympian runner Ronnie Baker! He talked about his own experiences and answered many, many questions of ours. He was talking about how he had lots of large dreams and mini goals, how he had tons of training, and how he followed 3 big morals he followed. Ronnie Baker said he often had pretty big dreams, and how that in a big dream, there’s little goals. I believe what he said had made since, as if you had such a large dream you were working towards, completing small goals can motivate you. He told us about his goals he completed as well. Ronnie Baker also talked about how from October to January he would do long and tedious runs almost every single day. He mentioned that he would run the most of Fridays, but he definitely did run a lot of the other days as well. Ronnie baker said when he had competitions his schedule was different as well, and so during competitions he would run shorter and faster distances but faster. Ronnie Baker also chatted about how his 3 morals had helped him through his life. His first one was about being adaptive. He said if you wanted to grow and improve you needed to adapt to the situation to get a better grasp to understand. His second one was hard work, if you want to achieve something then you’d need to put in hard work and sacrifices. Hard work doesn’t always mean literally hard work, as it means much more. Hard work includes sacrifice, determination, perseverance, and more, but not always. The third and last one is humbleness, as being humble is always good. It is not good to be way too overconfident, as while being confident is a good thing being way too overconfident is not. Knowing things like how everything could fall apart in a mere second is hard to believe but is can definitely happen, and it has happened to multiple people before. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know this stuff, so see you next time probably.

(Pretty sure i met all the criteria :D)

Today, our class got to see an olympic athlete and it is something I won’t forget. Ronnie baker told us about himself, like how he became an athlete and why he started running. He said that when he was younger he originally wanted to play basketball, but ended up finding out that his running was good, so he ended up doing that instead. He also told us that his 3 principals were to be adaptive, work hard, and to stay humble. Being adaptive means to flexible, and to keep going even when things change. Working hard means to keep on going and putting energy into it. And being humble means to not show off too much, but still feel good about yourself and winning. Being able to meet an olympic runner really was amazing and a once in a lifetime experience and i’m glad i was able to be a part of it. I met the criteria

Meeting one of the fastest people on earth sounds cool right? today at school we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience our class div 2 and div 1 had a visit from an Olympian athlete, Ronnie baker! It was pretty cool meeting an athlete/Olympian for the first time. it was a great experience meeting him and getting to ask questions. it was interesting to hear about his life journey and how he was able to achieve his goal in the Olympics and become the athlete he is today. He taught us about three main principles he lives by to achieve anything they are being adaptive when saying he is going to do something being committed to doing it and getting it done. His second thing is working hard always trying his best to do things and achieve them. the third thing is being humble, recognizing the people that helped you get to where you are now in life and what you have done because of doing. he taught us many important things but especially if you try and believe you can do it, you can get it done. getting a chance to hear him speak was very inspiring.
thank you Mr. Hong for reaching out to him and asking if we could do a zoom call with Him

Today, our class had an online zoom meeting with Ronnie baker! Everyone was excited and pumped about getting to meet a Olympian!
During our meeting, he talked about his road to the Olympics, about the hard and exciting parts of his life. Here are two main points he talked about.
Firstly, at our Q and A time he told us that his training schedule is very intense. He would usually run for long durations and before races, he would run bursts.

Secondly, also told us that he had actually wanted to become a basketball player instead of a professional runner but since he realized he had a talent in running and that he could also get into collage with a running scholarship.
Overall, he really motivated us and told us about what we could do to get to his position and to be humble with our lives.

Today, our classes got to talk to and learn from an Olympic champion! Ronnie Baker told us about his life experience, and I learned that if you have a big vision and are not sure how to get there, you should set smaller goals to help you get there. For example, he had to attend many competitions and train very hard every to get to the Olympics. I also learned about finding your own three principles to live by. For him, they were being humble, being adaptive, and working hard, but everyone's principles will be different. Finally, I learned that you have to make sacrifices to reach your big vision. Ronnie's biggest sacrifice was not being able to eat junk food. I think that this is very important to remember, because without making sacrifices, you will not get far and will not be able to reach your goals. I learned very much today and appreciate Ronnie spending time with us today to answer our questions.

I have met the success criteria.

Today was a special day at Laurier, we got to meet an Olympian and his name is Ronnie Baker. Despite the short time that we got to meet him, he taught us many great life lessons. One thing that really stuck out to me was the big 3 ideas that he lived by, being adaptive, hard work and being humble. He told us to think of our own 3 big ideas to live by and shape ourselves with in the future. He also told us to dream big the bigger the better and we should also set smaller goals to help us reach our big goal. But life isn’t a straight path there’s going to be some ups and downs sometimes and our goals might even change but if we believe and work hard whatever you want to happen will happen. It definitely is a pretty generic life lesson but I think it is very important and I don’t think Ronnie Baker couldn’t have explained it better. Overall I am very inspired by him and I will never forget that one zoom meeting. Thank you all the people that made this happen.

This is what we learned from Ronnie Baker today. Today we learned about Ronnie Bakers journey to being an Olympian. I learned his big 3 principles, 1 be adaptive (you have to adapt to your routine and no excuses). 2 hard work ( in everything in life you give it 110% so you can succeed in life). 3 be humble ( don’t get cocky because you didn’t get to where you are by yourself [ you had others help you] ). My favourite part was when I told him my question he said he liked my sweater and I’m pretty happy about that. I think this was a good experience because I will be more confident when meeting famous people. This is what we did today with Ronnie Baker.

Have you ever wanted to meet an olympic athlete? Well my class and I got to! Ronnie Baker is an amazing runner and person. Hearing him talk about the sacrifices had to take and all the hard work it took to get to where he is now inspired me. He talked about his 3 principles in life. Being adaptive, hardworking and humble. He told us that we should find our own 3 principles, and I think that’s something i’ll work on too. Ronnie taught us that when we have a big goal we wanna reach, we should have other little goals to accomplish first. He explained how there was times where he really felt like giving up, but he didn’t. He kept pushing and trying for himself and his family. We got to learn a little about his story when he was younger. Did you know he wanted to be a basketball player at first? I wouldn’t have expected that. Overall I think Ronnie Baker is a hardworking and really nice guy. I know i definitely won’t forget meeting him and everything he told us.
