Picture
After a morning of PE students used the plot outline of the story of the underground railroad to write the story in full paragraphs. Students will build a storyboard to use to orally share their understanding of the history of the underground railroad.  In the afternoon students carried on with operations with integers and continued filling in their underground railroad mapping assignment.

Slavery was legal for two hundred forty-six years. Slaves were put into plantations and forced to be DOCILE or there would be bad consequences. Fortunately, after the CIVIL WAR, slavery was abolished in the southern but not the northern states. Escaping wasn't easy until there was the Underground Railroad.

The underground was a secret route to the free states and use code names like CARGO, conductor, agent etc. They did this so then slave owners wouldn't try to INFILTRATE them. Even though slaves made it to the free states, they wouldn't be completely safe because in 1850, a law was passed where slave FUGITIVES could be sent back to their owners. In order to EVADE getting sent back, that encouraged slaves to journey farther north. Once the slaves made it to the north, some wanted to go back and save some more slaves because some of their friends and families were still in the south, in bondage.

One of the most UNDETERRED people was Harriet Tubman. She made trips to the United States and to Canada multiple times. Even with a serious case of NARCOLEPSY, Harriet Tubman never lost a single slave and never got caught once. Then after the American Revolutionary War, slavery ended for good.

Slavery was legal for more than 250 years and the underground railroad helped more than 100,000 slaves get to the free states and avoid slavery. Slaves were shipped from Africa to the 13 colonies and forced to work at plantations. They were kept DOCILE and if they messed up, they had to face VENGEANCE, so most of them wanted to escape. The underground railroad helped slaves so they could EVADE slave catchers and get to the free states. People working with the underground railroad didn't know each other to decrease the amount of INFILTRATION. Different people working with the underground railroad had coded names, like the agent, CARGO, and the conductor. One of the most UNDETERRED people that worked with the underground railroad was Harriet Tubman. Even though she had NARCOLEPSY, she helped free hundreds of slaves. After the American CIVIL WAR, there was no more slavery.

Great paragraph! The only thing I have is that if slaves did something wrong, they actually get punished not vengeance. Vengeance is more like revenge, not punishment.

After the CARGO arrived the FUGITIVE stole it. VENGEANCE will be mine I declared. Unfortunately my NARCOLEPSY kicked in and I fell asleep during the JURISDICTION of what would happen to the thief. Because of this I had to ADVOCATE for justice. I told my followers a CONTROVERSIAL PROCLAMATION. Luckily they agreed.

Nowadays, if you heard somebody call a slave CARGO, you would find it OBSCURE. But during the 1800s it was somewhat understandable. Enslaved people from Africa would be sold and forced to work with no pay. Life was horrible, thus began the Underground Railroad. Slaves would try to EVADE slave catchers, becoming FUGITIVES, once they ran away to the North. Where there was a CIVIL WAR that made slavery unwelcome there.
During the Underground Railroad, many peoples lives were at risk, so they made people anonymous and more. To avoid INFILTRATION.

Although it was rough times, there was a brave woman named Harriet Tubman. She saved hundred of slaves even though she had NARCOLEPSY. Which made her fall asleep a lot. She also had a friend who wanted VENGEANCE, and went out to kill slave owners.

Slavery in the USA was a very horrible time. Slaves were kept DOCILE, with little food, water, and rest. Because of this poor treatment, many slaves wanted to escape from plantations and go to Canada, where they could EVADE the USA's JURISDICTION. This is when the Underground Railroad started, a secret network of people helping slaves, or the "CARGO," escape north.

One very famous and courageous conductor, or guide, was Harriet Tubman. She was also once a FUGITIVE, but she was able to escape to the north through the Underground Railroad. However, that was not enough for her. Though she suffered from NARCOLEPSY, she didn't let that stop her. She was UNDETERRED! She made 19 trips in 10 years, freeing hundreds of other slaves. Harriet Tubman was a legend in the Underground Railroad.

After over 200 years of slavery, the CIVIL WAR ended slavery across the USA once and for all. A PROCLAMATION was made, and all slaves could finally experience freedom.

Slavery was one of the cruellest systems. Slaves were given little food to remain tired and DOCILE and were treated poorly. So, the Underground Railroad helped the FUGITIVE slaves, or the CARGO, to escape to the northern states, where slavery was abolished. But ADVOCATES for slavery still tried to catch escapees in the northern states to send them back to their owners. So, the Underground Railroad stretched even further to Canada, where slavery was already abolished, and escapees could avoid American JURISDICTION. The names of the people who worked on the underground railroad were OBSCURE to EVADE INFILTRATION.

The CONTRAVERSIES of slavery and the Underground Railroad led to the American CIVIL WAR, of which the Union States who abolished slavery clashed against the Confederate States, who still supported slavery. After the Confederates were defeated, slavery was abolished everywhere in the US, and the Underground Railroad became history.

The Cereal Killer stood in an OBSCURE corner, watching the CARGO roll by. He was in a “secured” area controlled by the FBI. The secured is so sarcastic because INFILTRATING the compound had been a walk in the park. Although, in the first halve of the compound, he had had to EVADE the guards unsuccessfully. The guards had spotted him in two seconds and sounded the alarm, but all the Cereal Killer had to do was cross into the next JURISDICTION ( which was 2 steps away), and the guard couldn’t arrest him. The guards in the first jurisdiction had to radio the guards in the other jurisdiction, but that proved very difficult because all of those guards had NARCOLEPSY and were fast asleep at their posts. Seeing that he was a FUGITIVE, the Cereal Killer couldn’t just walk in and go like, “hey GuYS, could you hand over that cereal??????????????”. But today vengeance was his today, so when no one was looking ( which was basically all the time), he grabbed the cargo and dashed into the night, never to be seen again (totally).

Note: why is everyone writing about the Underground Railroad??????????? Mr.fisher told us to be quote unquote, “creative”! Uncool gUYs, uncool.

Long ago, the North stage abolished slavery, however, the South states aren't so moral, they kept slavery. The underground railroad is to help black fugitives that were docile slaves evade to the free states. They were called the cargo. Soon the civil war begun and the north States won. The northern states took over jurisdiction and made slavery illegal all across America. Now, all African Americans can do whatever they want. For example, tailor, pilot, ect.

During the CILVIL WAR, a burglar INFILTRATED the dollarama to steal it’s fresh CARGO that was worth 10 million dollars. While the burglar was running to the van, a TAILOR in a small shop across the street saw him running with the CARGO and ran to get the phone but fell asleep in his chair because of his NARCOLEPSY. The burglar proclaimed to his friends that he got the CARGO and the van instantly took off once he got inside. They were soon able to get home and they successfully EVADED the cops.
