Today you started practicing using the reading strategies that promote deep comprehension. You SET A PURPOSE and CONNECTED TO BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE. Studnets watched an expert reader model making their thinking before getting started. This is the first step in deepening comprehension. We will be moving on to other strategies throughout this term. In the afternoon we continued working on our collages and completed the first component of our cardiovascular fitness tenting by running the beep test. 
IMPORTANT:
  • Keep up with the daily work! Don't fall behind! Complete your daily 'POST A RESPONSE' assignments by following the success criteria! 
  • Bring clothes for PE every Wednesday and Friday. 
1) MATH:
  • ​Check you Jump Math work from yesterday (no answer key for the worksheets)
  • Answer Key Grade 7 (click)
  • Answer Key Grade 6 (click)
​2.) ART/COLLAGE:
  • Make sure you have ALL your materials for your collage at school tomorrow. (Pictures, 3d object, paper, things you cut out from magazines, etc)
3.) POST A RESPONSE:
  • To help is studying for you first WORD WORK test, write a sentence using 8 words form Unit 2
LEARNING INTENTION: I can write sentences using my word work words

SUCCESS CRITERIA:
  • Include 8 sentences (One for each word)
  • Each sentence should show you understand the meaning of the word 
  • Word work words will be written in all CAPITALS so they are easily identifiable
  • All sentences start with a capital letter and end with period
**Assess your work against the success criteria before posting it!

PEER ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK:
  • If you notice a sentence does not show the meaning of the word please give some feedback to help improve the sentence.​

Two and three are prime FACTORS of six.
Twelve is a MULTIPLE of one, two, three, four, six, and twelve.
A PRIME NUMBER is a number that only has two factors; one and itself.
A COMPOSITE NUMBER is the opposite of an prime number; it has more than two factors.
In an equation, the DIVIDEND is the number you divide up.
The PRODUCT is the number you get by multiplying two numbers together.
The QUOTIENT is the number you get after dividing a number by another.
The DIVISOR is the number dividing the DIVIDEND.

@Shirley- Just a shirt as long as you are wearing athletic pants or shorts and runners. If you are wearing jeans or boots you will need to bring more than just a shirt to change into.

(Factors) of eight include two and four.
One (Multiple) of 6 is 12.
We don’t follow the (Success criteria).
The (Learning intention) for something is the purpose of doing it.
1 is not a (Prime number).
(Composite numbers) are numbers that can be made by other integers.
The (Product) 2 and 6 is 12.
Our class does not (Self-regulate)!

Nice sentences! I noticed that you tend to capitalize the first letter of the word work words instead of capitalizing all of the letters.

I think these sentences are good. One thing I think you could do to make it better is to space the numbers with the numbers on the list, there is also a spelling mistake on the seventh sentence.

Great sentences! I think you switched the word MULTIPLE around a bit. Three is a factor of twelve, while twelve is a multiple of three, because 3*4 is twelve. I get mixed up with those as well :)

Hi Bob,
I think you mixed up the word MULTIPLE a bit. The meaning of multiple should be in the Math form, not the form that means a lot. Remember to check your work.

@Rhea- Peer assessment is when your peer or classmates checks your work against the success criteria. After they are finished, they give you descriptive feedback on what you can do to improve.

A learning intention is your intention for learning something.
Making success criterias are important.
The number 2 is a prime number.
If you do 18 ÷ 3, 3 would be the divisor
Giving descriptive feedback is nice.
