Based on what the paragraph reads, Cole is a very selfish/do it his way person. Doesn't really like to follow instructions or to listen to other people. As for the people who want to help cole (Edwin and Garvey) Cole is starting to believe in them as the character development goes on he is starting to trust them

I think that Cole has a very small pack in the form of Garvey and Edwin. As the story progresses, more and more people may join his pack. I think that he realizes that he can only get stronger by trusting those around him that want to help him instead of pushing everyone away.

I think that based on what we have read, that Cole is a very independent person who likes things done his way. In this case, there are people from the circle like Garvey and Edwin who are trying to help Cole. I think that now Cole is realizing that if he wants to switch his life around, he has to accept help from his "pack" because alone he is weak... but if he can learn to join others, trust them and accept their help then he can become stronger.

I think that Cole might be now realizing that there are people who want to help him like Edwin and Garvey, but in order for them to help him, he has to let them help him. No one can help you if you push them away. He has to build up some more trust, and go "with the pack" instead of going astray alone away from his pack.

I think that Cole has a pack but a small one which is including Edwin and Garvey. Maybe there will be more people in his pack, later in the book. What I think he realizes during the wolf dance is that he can open up to the world and rely on the people around him just like a pack

Miikka

I think that Cole is referring to the wolves through their packs that they use to hunt with. I think that he has a very small pack of his own that includes Garvey and Edwin. As the story progresses, and Cole gets calmer and treats people with more respect, more and more people may join his "pack" and be nice and calm around him. If this does happen, Cole may feel happier and may want to help the people around him just like Garvey, Edwin and the circle are trying to do instead of hurting and pushing them away like he did to Peter and to Garvey and Edwin the first time he met them.

I think the wolves relate to him because wolves are meant to work in a pack, just like humans are meant to live in a society of some sort. But when a wolf strays from the pack it becomes an outcast and eventually dies off without it's pack, similar with Cole being an outcast of society. I think he doesn't have a pack because he is starting to bond and connect with people one of the key points of a pack but he still is arrogant and selfish to some extent. I think he starts to realize that being in a pack is better than being alone and being with and working with people is better than working alone. I also think that he's starting to wish he had a pack of his own.

I think cole relates to the wolves because wolves work in a pack. Cole realizes now that people want to help him now but before he thought no one cared about him. I don’t think he has a pack but he’s starting to make friends with people. He still has the same attitude as he had before. I think he wants to be in a pack but can’t?

If cole can learn to trust others and if others are able to trust cole maybe he will have a pack. Depends on how he changes. When cole dances the wolf dance I think cole learned to trust people. I am thinking because he saw the wolf by the bay all alone it reminded him of himself and realized that normally wolfs traveling in packs and trust each other but cole travels alone by himself.

well it kind of relaets to him because of how he is also not very strong alone but when
garvy and edwin are with him then he learns much more and feels more safe when hes around
people. he might not show it but i think that hes mush more comfortable around people then alone.

cole really dosnt have a pack. hes allways been a lone wolf and he never really understood
the importanct of people and that dance really showed him that he was stronger with people
then alone

I think when Cole saw the lone wolf in the forest he thought about himself. He thought about himself because usaully wolves travel in packs which make them easily one of the top contenders of the food chain. When a wolf is with out it's pack and alone it is weak and a easy kill. Cole relates himself with the lonely wolf because all his life he never cared about anyone and nobody cared about him, he was also very selfish and wasn't good around people because of his non tamed anger. I believe the wolf pack he is speaking of is the Justice Circle. Some care to help him and some don't and want him to suffer. Cole just wants to walk away from that like a wolf leaving it's pack. When Cole does the Wolf Dance he realizes that if the pack works together they end up having dinner; in this case if the circle works together with Cole they can help him with his problems and to tame his anger.

When Cole saw the lone wolf on the island, it ignited thoughts about himself and how he and the wolf were so alike. They both had much potential, but without any support, they would basically die. Cole can relate to the wolf; from his early years, he had no one to rely on, no one to really care for him and support him, and he had to fend for himself on many occasions.
As he dances the Wolf Dance, Cole realizes that everyone has to, at some point, depend on each other to survive. The wolves live in packs, hunting with each other, and sharing the kill, so everyone can live. Cole notices that everyone is dependent on each other throughout their lives.
My belief is that Cole does indeed have a pack, but a very small one. Garvey and Edwin have helped Cole to change who he is, and they are part of his pack. Perhaps his mother is too after she stops drinking, and plays a role in convincing the Circle to release Cole.

I think that Cole is relating wolves in a pack to his situation right now because when wolves are in a pack, each wolf is looking out for it's fellow pack member. They have each other's backs. But Cole has never had anyone care about him or help him. He's a lone wolf, with no one to turn to. Although this may be of his own doing, he is starting to understand that if he wants to be trusted, he has to learn to trust others, which he never really has. He is starting to trust Garvey and Edwin, who make up Cole's pack.

Cole can relate to the wolf because he used to do everything on his own, like the wolf he saw, and now he's starting to find and make a pack. In his pack are Edwin and Garvey who help him heal himself like other wolf's helping each other in their pack. I think he realizes that Edwin and Garvey do help him with all the advices and convincing the circle to bring him back to the island and he realizes he isn't alone.

To me, he could've had a pack to start with, but he left and started beating everyone up and getting into trouble. Kids avoided him, parents told their kids to stay away from him. His mom avoided the conflicts between his dad and him, and his dad didn't even want him alive. He was a lone wolf, the only things he's familiar with is probably his dad's beatings and going to the detention center. Then he decided to beat up Peter.

That was the last straw.

He was going to jail until Garvey and Edwin decided to bring him to the remote island. When he was dancing the Wolf Dance, it was like talking about his story until now.

"Crouched like a wolf", still going through life as usual. "Slowly, he inched forward", keep going through life, events happens, the Circle of Justice happens, him going to the remote island happens. "Head hung low as if prowling", trying to escape the lonesome island, still searching for somewhere he can finally anchor his life. "Gradually he circled faster, everything happens, he and the spirit bear and he lays there wounded for days, seagulls picking up his flesh. "Pretending to run with a pack in pursuit of a wounded moose" he was rescued by Garvey, Edwin and the nurse. His very first pack. His mom even started to care. He was suppose to return to the island to rebuild the cabin and live through winter. He finally has a goal, something the pursuit. Like hunting prey, the lessons he's learning isn't easy. "He felt the power of the pack working together," Edwin teaches him many things, also telling him how to build the cabin, even though he still sometimes feel stupid by the things Edwin showed him, he is starting to find meaning in the things he is asked to do daily. When the time comes and Garvey and Edwin leaves the island, he will feel like he needs them back, "any wolf that left the pack lost the protection of the other wolves and became weaker."

When Cole was very tired after working, Edwin and Garvey asked Cole to make supper for them. However, Cole rejected them. When Cole did the wolf dance, his pack was Edwin and Garvey, and when he rejected them, was left all alone and felt weak. Cole lost Edwin and Garvey's help like when the wolf left the pack and he had no one to depend on.

Cooper

Cole relates to wolves because wolves are normally in a pack. They always stick together and help one another. If a wolf leaves the pack, they become weaker. Cole is starting to realize that he needs his pack, Edwin and Garvey. Like wolves, they are helping one another, making each other stronger. When Cole did the wolf dance on his own he was much weaker without Garvey and Edwin. That is when he started to realize he had a “pack”.
