Picture
Today we worked on publishing our writing and learn how to calculate percents using mental math. In the afternoon we carried on with our basketball unit and started a French cooking show project.
1)CHURCHILL FORMS: bring them in

2)MATH: Complete the handout (click)

3)FRENCH: Complete the English part of the script (click)

4)Alphabiography: Be read to print it Thursday

5) PAR HOLIDAY
  • Use this time to work on publishing your Alphabiography
6) OPTIONAL PAR FOR WHOEVER WANTS TO DO IT:
  • Solve the following problem and explain how you did it:
  • Mildred has seven grades on her report card. The overall average of these seven grades is 77%. After looking more closely at her report card, Mildred discovered that her English grade was incorrectly recorded as 18% instead of her actual grade of 81%. Determine Mildred’s correct report card average.

@ Mr fisher
For my french script, I am planning to bake cookies, but I don't have the word "boil" in my script. Is it okay if I skip that one?

The teacher will increase marks, increasing the average percentage. He increases 63 percent (very self explanatory) to one out of seven subjects. 63 percent divided by 7 subjects equals to a 9 percent increase in the average. 86 percent

Important point: If you give a mark to every subject once, the average increases by one percent because 7 subjects = 100 %, since there are only 7 subjects and 7/7 = 1, which is one percent. (You probably didn't get it)

77 x 7 = 539
81-18= 63
538 + 63 = 602
602 ÷ 7= 86
there’s 7 tests so we should yknow multiply 77 by 7, cause that’s how you find the total sum
then do 81-18 because 18 is already added into 539 so you only need the rest of 81. thus you should get 602. then you need to re divide the 7 test because you need the average. the new and correct average is 82. unless i read the post wrong or something

@Mr.Fisher I thought I brang home the french script assignment but got confused with different assignment copies and brang home an extra copy of the instructions. Can I get a one day extension? If I'm quick, maybe just a few minutes?
